00:00For all the details on what happened to me regarding my injury, we're pushing 100 hours plus of video now.
00:07YouTube channel, My Medical Nightmare.
00:09All right, new complaint posted to the Better Business Bureau website, and this is for OrthoAlabama Spine and Sports, dated
00:18December 19th, 2025.
00:22They write, I have been a patient of OrthoAlabama for two years.
00:27I have a procedure done back in March of 25 and had a similar procedure the previous year.
00:35However, the insurance company did not cover as much because the previous procedure was done at the hospital and they
00:44considered it in network.
00:45The recent procedure was done at OrthoAlabama.
00:50The insurance company left me with a huge bill and I have been paying every month without missing any payments.
00:56However, the large amount that was not covered has been difficult, but I've been budgeting small amounts every month, $25
01:06to $40.
01:08The issue with this situation is that the business management is threatening collections because of how long it is taking
01:16to pay off the balance,
01:18even though I am making payments every month in good faith according to what I can afford.
01:24The worst thing about this situation is the business management is withholding access to my doctor until the entire bill
01:34is paid in full.
01:36It is very unfortunate for anyone to have to suffer without having access to their physician because of the perverse
01:46greed by insurance companies and business management.
01:49I just want to be able to negotiate a reasonable payment schedule and gain access to receive the medical treatment
01:57that I need.
01:58I am unable to afford to start over with another doctor and create more debt, especially if I cannot find
02:06a suitable provider in my insurance network.
02:09My complaint can be summed up as this business has made it impossible to make any reasonable argument through good
02:18faith or written agreement.
02:20The upper management who make the policy and decisions are not willing to communicate with the customer patient.
02:27Their policies that withhold access to medical treatment from the doctor without full payment is immoral and erroneous considering that
02:37a written agreement or other agreement would be much better for the customer and seems like a better business practice.
02:44All right, so my issues with Dr. Perry L. Savage Sr. in Ortho, Alabama Spine and Sports.
02:52September 14, 2019 visit.
02:56$300 cash visit.
02:59Appointment at 3 p.m.
03:01I sat in the waiting room two hours until I saw him.
03:05Walked out of the place near 6 p.m.
03:08Their waiting area does not offer patient-customer privacy or security.
03:14A crude half-wall Chinese screen curtain separates patients from the sign-in area where four or more patients at
03:25one time give their personal details.
03:27Customers can be heard giving personal health information, which is a concern of HIPAA.
03:34In the general waiting area adjacent to this, in the visit with Savage, I presented images of my own head
03:43and neck,
03:44clearly showing the issues, which included several-inch diameter head trauma.
03:49Curiously not acknowledged by this 50-year surgeon and professional who graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine
03:59in 1968,
04:01probably has seen almost every type of injury that is humanly possible.
04:08So one thing Savage told me was that the medical imagery that I showed him to assess my injury was
04:16not good enough.
04:18He wrote this in my chart.
04:20You can see it here.
04:21He says I just showed him a few slides of CT copied on paper.
04:26This is not accurate.
04:28I had a DVD-ROM disc that Dr. Savage put into his computer in the examination room.
04:35We both looked through imagery.
04:39I pointed to the same area in these pictures where anomalies have been noted.
04:45And again, he told me with a straight face that those were not injuries.
04:50My pictures looked normal.
04:52And I'll show some new findings as of April 2026.
04:57Interestingly, the same CT scans that I shared with him that he said weren't good enough have been newly assessed
05:06to be a high-resolution bone algorithm slice appropriate for evaluating osseous bone integrity.
05:15I had a chance to put this imagery in front of some new experts and compare this new information to
05:24the few lines of text Savage wrote in my chart.
05:30All right.
05:30So the area we're looking at, an axial view of the cranial vertebral junction,
05:36specifically focusing on the base of the skull and the first cervical vertebrae, C1, the atlas.
05:42Primary findings.
05:44Within the highlighted red region, patient's left side image right, there's a significant disruption in the cortical continuity of the
05:53C1 lateral mass and posterior arch.
05:57This appearance may suggest a common unit fracture where the bone breaks into several fragments.
06:05The bone in this area appears irregular and displaced when compared to the contralateral side that's the patient's right.
06:14These findings could reflect an acute traumatic injury to the atlas, such as a Jefferson-type burst fracture or a
06:24complex lateral mass fracture.
06:26In continuing examination details comparison, when comparing the highlighted region to the opposite side of the image,
06:35the normal ring-like structure of the C1 vertebrae is lost.
06:39The contralateral patient's right side shows a more continuous and expected cortical outline.
06:46Anatomical deviation.
06:48The fragments in the red box appear to be shifted, which could indicate instability at the cranial vertebral junction.
06:57The findings are highly consistent with an acute fracture of the C1 vertebrae, atlas, on the patient's left side.
07:06Because injuries to the upper cervical spine carry a high risk of instability and potential neurological complications,
07:16this requires immediate evaluation by a neurosurgeon or orthopedic spine specialist,
07:24and usually necessitates stabilization, such as a cervical collar, until fully cleared.
07:31I mentioned in the other video where, after challenging the Birmingham Radiological Group, Ascension, and UAB doctors,
07:40I was retaliated against.
07:43In the future, healthcare providers that I went to, when they looked into my case,
07:49some protest was made from one of the earlier providers,
07:54and all of a sudden, I found doors were being closed to me in my quest for diagnosis and treatment
08:02of this injury,
08:02which I was repeatedly told did not exist.
08:07Two, Ortho Alabama and Dr. Perry Savage,
08:11they apparently had a working relationship or partnership with the Birmingham Radiological Group doctors,
08:19UAB, St. Vincent's, and Ascension.
08:22In the chart note where Savage claims he cannot explain my pain,
08:27but refers me on to their partners, University of Alabama, Birmingham, UAB.
08:32I did another video where Ortho Alabama and their doctor Malampati were the subject of a civil lawsuit
08:42in which Birmingham Radiological Group, Dr. Julian Patrick Druhan,
08:48was blamed for contributing to a patient's death days before that individual had some medical imagery done
08:58and was accused of not spotting deep vein thrombosis,
09:03which may have been a causative factor in that patient's death.
09:07Physician Assistant Ben Jeter, PAC, sat in during this exam.
09:13He entered the room and never introduced himself.
09:16Dr. Savage also never introduced him to me as well,
09:21and this is not professional.
09:24When Savage was not looking at my CT x-ray and MRI images,
09:28Jeter thumbed through my files.
09:31Mr. Jeter silently observed,
09:34When I left, this man told me someone in their office would call me about a UAB neurosurgery referral
09:44in a few days' time.
09:46Why was I referred to a neurologist if the doctor claimed I had no injury?
09:52This phone call never took place.
09:55After one week, I had to call Ortho Alabama myself
10:00and found the appointment had indeed been made.
10:04Again, I was not informed.
10:06And what's more, I was put on a three-month waiting list for the referral to UAB.
10:12Dr. Mina Lubos, I was called by UAB and told I would have to wait an additional month
10:20because they were moving to Gardendale.
10:23At this point, I told UAB to forget it, and I canceled.
10:27I tried to contact Ortho Alabama and Dr. Savage later.
10:32When I found out the true extent of my injuries,
10:36I told an office representative,
10:40I did not believe I received fair service for my money.
10:44I invited Dr. Savage to call me and discuss this.
10:48A telephone call was recorded.
10:49You can hear it in my videos.
10:52The Ortho Alabama receptionist played the usual out-of-office games,
10:57despite the fact I got a call from the office manager just a few minutes before.
11:03That call that I was promised then and there was not returned either.
11:08I was referred to Dr. Savage in Ortho Alabama
11:11from a previous visit at AFC American Family Care,
11:16for $175 cash located off of Parkway East near Roebuck.
11:23American Family Care would not back me up on getting this write-off of a medical exam corrected.
11:30I later learned AFC is corrupt and not a reputable practice,
11:35and anyone who takes business from them is immediately suspect.
