00:08The GMB union said more than 4,000 women were involved in a pay dispute
00:13and that there were structural differences for roles mainly staffed by women,
00:17like teaching assistants and predominantly male jobs, including refuse collection.
00:22GMB organiser Rachel Robertson said women faced long delays after promises were made to settle their claims.
00:29Leeds City Council said part of the pay dispute was settled last year following discussions with the GMB
00:35but any future settlement must be in line with its duty to manage budgets in a prudent and robust manner.
