00:00I knew Alex had to be a big healthy amount of repressed.
00:05Like he's pretty repressed.
00:07He doesn't think of himself as repressed.
00:09He thinks of himself as just kind of like serious and solid and thorough,
00:16but actually he doesn't want to let loose,
00:18so I had to bring a big bit of that to him
00:21so that he could be changed by the end by Poppy.
00:23I think for me, you know, Poppy's in the book like larger than life.
00:27She zooms at a million miles a minute.
00:30And I think I didn't want to shy away from how enigmatic she is as a character.
00:38I think, you know, sometimes for the sake of subtlety in performance,
00:42we feel the need to like bring everything down
00:44and that's just not how she reads in the book.
00:47So I wanted to make sure we were taking those big swings with her.
