00:02President Trump is set to meet munitions makers as his administration pushes to expand weapons
00:07production after military operations in Iran and other conflicts reduce to U.S. stockpiles,
00:13according to Reuters. U.S. weapons shipments to allies and its own military operations have
00:18raised concerns about key munitions inventories and increased pressure on contractors to boost
00:23production. The meeting would mark the second White House gathering with major defense firms
00:27focused on ramping up weapons output. The Pentagon awarded Lockheed Martin an undefinitized contract
00:33worth up to $35 billion to increase THAAD interceptor production. Pentagon negotiators
00:38are also pressing contractors to move faster on framework agreements to boost production of
00:43Patriot, THAAD, Tomahawk, and Amram missiles. Defense executives said Congress must appropriate
00:49funding before companies invest more heavily in components and production capacity.
