00:02For the first time since the war began, the Senate has approved a resolution rebuking
00:07President Trump's handling of Iran. Four Republicans joined Democrats Tuesday to pass
00:13a War Powers Resolution aimed at limiting future U.S. military action against Iran.
00:18The 50 to 48 vote marks the first time the Senate has approved such a measure this year,
00:24though the resolution does not carry the force of law and is unlikely to change American policy.
00:29On Truth Social, Trump dismissed the vote as, quote, poorly timed and meaningless,
00:34accusing lawmakers of making his job more difficult.
00:37Meanwhile, there are signs diplomacy is moving forward.
00:41Pakistan, which has been helping mediate between Washington and Tehran,
00:45says technical talks will resume next week after what it described as a temporary break in negotiations.
00:51At the same time, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is meeting with leaders across the Gulf region,
00:56saying he wants to ensure their concerns are reflected as talks continue.
