00:12Kim made the remarks while attending a ceremony at Nampo Port
00:15to mark the deployment of the newly commissioned multi-purpose destroyer Cho Hyun.
00:21According to North Korean state media, the vessel had completed operational tests conducted
00:27over the past 14 months before entering service.
00:30During the ceremony, Kim also outlined plans to further strengthen the country's naval capabilities,
00:36acknowledging that the Navy had long been the weakest branch of North Korea's armed forces.
00:42This includes the deployment of another 5,000-ton destroyer called Gangwon,
00:47as well as the development of larger 10,000-ton strategic warships.
00:51The Gangwon underwent repairs after partially capsizing during a launch ceremony last year.
