00:00On a personal level, I have every sympathy with Sir Keir Starmer. Leadership is a very difficult process.
00:06It is very demanding and this will have been a tough period for him and for his family.
00:10So I wish Keir and his family every good wish for the future in coming to what's a difficult decision.
00:17But his resignation is not a surprise. It was crystal clear that he was losing the confidence of his party,
00:23having lost the confidence of the country.
00:26And I think it demonstrates as we go through another change of Prime Minister in the United Kingdom,
00:31after so many changes in the last 10 years, that the Westminster system is just not working.
00:37And for Scotland, as we observe this constant change of Prime Minister,
00:42that the answer is for Scotland's future to be in Scotland's hands through the powers of independence.
