A cold front is sweeping through the southeastern states, bringing gusty northerly winds and increasing rain from South Australia to Tasmania and Victoria, with isolated showers reaching parts of New South Wales and the ACT. Meanwhile, a southeasterly flow will deliver showers to the Queensland coast and Western Australia, though much of the interior rainfall is easing.

00:00Hello Ilana here from the Bureau with your national weather forecast for this
00:03weekend Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of June. Now tomorrow we'll be
00:08following the swift passage of this cold front moving through the southeastern
00:11states ahead of which we will see these rather warm and gusty northerly winds.
00:16So tomorrow we'll see rain moving through South Australia, Tasmania and
00:20Victoria and even into southern inland parts of New South Wales and the ACT
00:25during the evening. Elsewhere across the country this southeasterly flow will
00:29bring showers up the Queensland coast and through Western Australia much of this
00:33rainfall is easing through the interior and we'll be watching this next trough
00:37and cold front approaching the far southwest during the evening. Let's now
00:42take a look at each state and we'll start in Queensland where we're expecting to
00:45see some morning fog through inland parts of the southeast. Otherwise this ongoing
00:50southeasterly flow will bring showers up the east coast in particular around the
00:55north tropical coast. Through inland parts of the state tomorrow it will be
00:59another dry sunny and warm day. For Brisbane 24 degrees partly cloudy with a
01:05shower or two. For New South Wales tomorrow will be another foggy morning
01:10through much of the east. Now a lot of the state will see dry conditions for a lot of
01:15the day but some isolated shower activity will develop in the northeast and
01:19later and towards the evening we'll see rainfall increasing through the southwest
01:23inland parts and even towards the ACT. So Canberra could see some late showers and a
01:28top of 17. For Sydney though it will be a dry day morning fog then mostly sunny a
01:34top of 22. For Victoria tomorrow we'll see some strong northerly winds ahead of
01:40this approaching cold front. Now those gusty conditions are expected in
01:43particular about the ranges as well as about the Otways. We're going to see
01:47rainfall increase throughout the day through the west in the morning through
01:51central parts of the state during the middle of the day and then into the east
01:55in the evening. Melbourne will have a dry but windy start to the day and then
01:59rainfall will start to develop from lunchtime or a little bit later. It will
02:03see a top of 17. Tasmania will also see those strong gusty northerlies tomorrow
02:09morning. In particular about elevated parts of the state as well as through the
02:13northeast. Now we'll see rain increasing from the west throughout the day.
02:18Launceston is going to see quite a rainy day. Hobart will miss out on the
02:24heaviest rainfall but it will still see a few showers developing. It will see a top
02:28of 18 degrees. Through South Australia we'll continue to see this trough and
02:33cold front bringing rain from the southwest through to agricultural parts
02:37throughout the day and then generally contracting towards the east in the
02:41evening. It does remain warmer than average for much of South Australia. For
02:46Adelaide tomorrow it will be a cloudy day. We'll see rain starting to increase in the
02:50morning and lingering through the afternoon before easing. It will see a top
02:54of 19. For Western Australia this rainfall through the interior parts is
03:00really on an easing trend so it will be dry for most of the state. Later in the day
03:05we start to see this next approaching trough and cold front which will bring
03:08some isolated late shower activity to the far southwest. Now we continue to see
03:13these cooler than average temperatures for southwestern parts of Western Australia.
03:18Perth tomorrow morning will drop to 3 degrees before a maximum temperature of
03:22just 18. For the Northern Territory tomorrow it will be sunny again through the
03:27top end apart for some isolated morning showers through the northeast. For Darwin
03:32it will be sunny with a top of 33. Through Central Australia it will be warm but
03:37we'll start to see some cloud moving through. Alice Springs will see a top of 28. Now
03:42heading into Sunday where this cold front will continue to progress through New
03:46South Wales bringing with it some shower activity. So Sydney will see some showers
03:51developing with 22 degrees and Canberra will see some early morning showers
03:55with a top of 16. Now through the southeast behind that cold front we will see a
04:00little bit of a drop in temperatures but those temperatures will remain about
04:03average for this time of year. So for Hobart partly cloudy and 13. Melbourne a
04:09mostly sunny day with 15 and Adelaide a sunny day with 17 degrees. It will be
04:14different though out west with the passage of this next cold front moving
04:17through WA. Perth will see showers increasing and a top of 19. Up north it
04:23will be dry and sunny 32 for Darwin and for Brisbane a possible shower with a top of
04:2824. That's all for our national weather forecast if you'd like some more
