00:00We don't pray despite a troubled heart because it's conventional.
00:04We pray with a troubled heart so that we can strike the roots of that trouble,
00:10which only God can do.
00:12Because as I said, an issue of the soul can only be settled by the owner of the soul.
00:18A troubled heart can only be mended by the maker of the hearts,
00:22which is our Lord Jesus Christ, God.
00:32Good morning, Brother Kis, and thank you for this divine connection.
00:37When I've read this scripture before, something was not clear.
00:42I was trying to ask myself, trying to say,
00:45how do you go to a prayer room when your heart is troubled?
00:53We could see that our Lord Jesus Christ, yes, the heart was troubled,
00:56but it's still hard to seek God's face,
01:00meaning that it's okay for your heart to be troubled,
01:04but you need to know that only God can bring the peace of heart.
01:08That's what I wanted to say, but thank you very much.
01:10I think another area, which is just actually just a testimony,
01:14is that when you started preaching, my heart was racing around.
01:17I don't know why, but when you started preaching, calmness came, peace came,
01:22and I was able to connect fully as I kept on meditating for the Holy Spirit
01:28to open my heart to his word and his faith.
01:31Thank you, Brother Kis.
01:32Thank you, Brother.
01:33So, if I just speak on that point about acknowledging your heart is troubled
01:45and still going to the prayer room or a place of prayer
01:48or just taking time to seek the face of God,
01:53perhaps you are referring to some previous messages or words of advice
02:00where, even during an interactive prayer,
02:03I would say statements like,
02:06if your heart is troubled and you pray,
02:09that your prayer will not be effective
02:13because you first have to settle your heart.
02:15The point there is not that a troubled heart cannot pray.
02:19The point is you must identify the fact
02:26that you can't pray to God religiously
02:29and just say the words conventionally
02:33if your heart is not in the right place with God.
02:37It's dealing with that religious spirit
02:39that sees prayer as a mechanism
02:43of just asking God for results
02:47without considering process.
02:49So, this is why we have to be very careful.
02:52There's nothing wrong when your heart is troubled.
02:55That's a time for you to pray.
02:57But you pray to address that trouble.
03:00You don't go to God with a troubled heart
03:02and then begin to pray about other things
03:05without addressing that trouble
03:06or seeking God's will or opinion
03:08concerning that trouble
03:09because of this religious mindset
03:12which is, okay, irrespective of the states of my heart,
03:16I will just pray to tick the box that I've prayed
03:20or fulfill people are looking at me
03:23so I'll just pray
03:24but I don't really mean it
03:25so my heart is not really there.
03:27Sometimes, yes, our heart is troubled
03:29and the reason I read that scripture
03:31and emphasized it
03:32is because Jesus is not just saying
03:34my heart is troubled.
03:35He said,
03:37deeply distressed,
03:40exceedingly sorrowful.
03:41These are very descriptive words
03:43used to reveal the intensity
03:46of what he was passing through
03:48but he took it to the Father
03:50and you can see the progression of the prayer.
03:54You know,
03:55if it's your will,
03:56take it from me
03:57but not as my will
03:58but your will be done.
03:59Later on,
04:00oh,
04:01if the only way I can pass through this
04:04is to drink this cup,
04:05let your will be done.
04:06So in the process of prayer,
04:08the revelation and understanding came
04:11and by the time the prayer finished
04:12and he was going back to the disciples,
04:16you see that he was no longer
04:18in that state of deep distress
04:20or overwhelming sorrow.
04:22So when your heart is troubled
04:24and you take it to God
04:25in a sincere and genuine way,
04:28there will be peace,
04:30there will be strength,
04:31there will be comfort for your soul
04:33that the Holy Spirit brings
04:34and then you continue the journey.
04:36So that's just the difference.
04:38We don't pray despite a troubled heart
04:42because it's conventional.
04:44We pray with a troubled heart
04:46so that we can strike the roots of that trouble
04:49which only God can do
04:50because as I said,
04:52an issue of the soul
04:54can only be settled by the owner of the soul.
04:57A troubled heart can only be mended
04:59by the maker of the hearts
05:01which is our Lord Jesus Christ,
05:03God.
05:04So we go to our creator
05:06but we don't go with pretentious calm,
05:11you know, pretending that all is well.
05:15God knows us.
05:16He knows everything about you.
05:18You don't have to pretend.
05:19You can't deceive God.
05:21You don't have to go pretending
05:23that all is well.
05:24You go and bring your issues to Him.
05:27In the last message,
05:28I used the example of Elijah
05:30who ran in fear
05:32from the threats of Jezebel
05:34and he ran to the wilderness,
05:36to the mountain
05:37and he expressed his distress to God
05:41saying words to the effect of
05:43take my life.
05:45Take my life, Lord.
05:47But he brought them to God.
05:50He revealed that to God
05:52and then the revelation came
05:54that shifted his perspective.
05:55In the same way
05:57as Jesus Christ prayed to God
06:00fell on his face to the Father,
06:02the revelation came
06:03that strengthened him
06:05to keep pressing,
06:07to keep going.
06:08So yes,
06:09we don't pretend
06:10that our hearts cannot be troubled
06:13or our souls cannot be distressed
06:15but we must take it
06:18to the secret place in prayer.
06:20And that's why I will repeat
06:21that statement again.
06:24When you don't know what to do,
06:27there is always something you can do.
06:31Run to God in prayer.
06:34When you don't know where to go,
06:37there is always a place you can go.
06:41The secret place in prayer.
06:49It's not about how people
06:52receive your contribution.
06:54It's about how you give your contribution.
06:57If you work hard for the glory of God
06:59with all your hearts,
07:00even if people try to misinterpret
07:03or twist your words,
07:05your work will speak for you
07:06and the results will speak for you.
07:10Good night.
07:12Good night.
