00:00We have heard time and again threats of increases in immigration enforcement across our city.
00:05I want to be very clear about the fact that I believe that ICE raids are cruel.
00:09They are inhumane. They do nothing to serve in the interests of public safety.
00:13I've shared that directly with the president. I've shared that in public.
00:17It is a feeling that many New Yorkers share.
00:20And I also do believe that ICE as an entity is one that should be abolished
00:24and that we should return to an immigration system that has more humanity at the heart of it.
00:28And as much as this is an off-topic question, we're also discussing the World Cup.
00:33The World Cup is supposed to be a celebration of the world as a whole.
00:38And some of the decisions that we've seen been taken by the federal administration,
00:43be it the denial of visas for journalists from certain countries
00:46or the rejection of a visa for a coach of a team,
00:50as well as single-day visas for specific foreign national teams,
00:54this is anathema to what this tournament is supposed to be about.
00:57If we cannot even allow the players, the teams, and the journalists covering those teams
01:02to come into this city and this country,
01:05then it begs a larger question about our commitment to the spirit of this tournament.
01:10And we want this to be a tournament that reflects our commitment
01:13to us being part of something larger than ourselves,
01:15and that's the world's game, which everyone should be able to be a part of.
01:18Thank you. We've got time for two more.
01:20We're going to go to Morgan McKay from Fox and then Liz Kim from Gothamist.
01:25Hi, Mr. Mayor.
01:26Hi, Morgan. How are you?
01:27Good. Thank you.
01:28Are you going to be meeting with the president while he's here in New York City?
01:33And then also, you were saying that you purchased a standing room-only ticket.
01:38I'm just not familiar.
01:39Did you get a discount from the Garden through that,
01:42or was that just something you bought online on Ticketmaster?
01:46So that's something that I purchased directly from the Madison Square Garden.
01:51Close to $1,000 was the price of it,
01:54and standing room-only is just the section that I'll be standing in.
01:57When it comes to the president,
02:00I don't have any scheduled meeting with the president.
02:02However, I'm sure that our conversations will continue about how to serve the city.
