09:05Για Μoldova, да, για να μπορείς να μιλήσεις.
09:08τρέπεζα να το πραγματάμε το πρώτο μέρος και η Μoldova και Θέλους του Ιόπαν.
09:13Is that the point, that ultimately this country would be something else?
09:17I don't know.
09:17I think the best way, the simplest way, the sharpest and the boldest way is to say,
09:26guys, come around the table and we'll fix it step by step, year by year,
09:32for each and every one of you.
09:34In the meantime, look at the paper.
09:36You close a chapter, you get something.
09:39You close another chapter, you get something.
09:41But it's individual.
09:42It's not all of you in the same time, but all of you in the same time we're together
09:47because it's politics.
09:48We are a political union.
09:49We have to talk about what we do with our common defense.
09:53We have to talk about what we do with our common foreign policy.
09:57We have to talk about how we keep balance.
10:01But that means full alignment with foreign policy with the EU.
10:04Serbia, for example, is not applying sanctions.
10:06That would be another issue.
10:07Again, where is the difference?
10:10Why is Serbia today around the table?
10:12Because he is a candidate of the country aiming to become part of the European Union.
10:18So, it will not be a mistake.
10:22It will be a great advantage for both to have Serbia around the table all the way
10:27and then to tell Serbia around the table,
10:29hey guys, it's not good.
10:31You have to align.
10:32But for them, it will be much easier to align if they will finally realize that they are part of
10:40the European Union and they have to grow up in the role and to be full, fully endorsed by everything
10:49that has to do with the European Union.
10:50The last time we spoke, you also made a point very clear that was controversial.
10:53You said to me, this was a mistake that the EU is not talking and engaging directly with Russia.
10:59We need to engage with this diplomacy.
11:01Now, it's happening.
11:02Do you feel validated?
11:03Where is it happening?
11:04Well, there is talk, as you know, now between the French, Germany and the UK that there could be now
11:08a sort of angle toward Russia.
11:09There is talk between them that could be a talk.
11:11Yeah, but we are still far away.
11:13To open this debate about talking to Russia, which was an absolute no-go up until six months, even though
11:17the Ukrainian president says it's needed.
11:19Six months is an eternity in war because in six months people continue to be killed.
11:26But the Europeans have changed their mindset now.
11:28They now openly talk about there needs to be a form of communication.
11:32I hope they start to talk with Russia because talking to each other, they have never a problem.
11:38To talk about what, however?
11:39To start understanding each other how this war can be stopped in a way that does not...
11:47Some say that's a trap.
11:49Russia's an enemy to the European Union in Europe?
11:53Listen, I don't know what other name to put to a force that is killing people in another country every
12:01day.
12:02It has not been an enemy.
12:04It should not have become an enemy.
12:07And in this, there is a reflection to be made.
12:10But nowadays it's an enemy and should change.
12:15Now, talking to the enemy, making peace, working for peace every day is not about the other side.
12:22It's not about how much the other side want peace.
12:25It's not about how sincere is the other side.
12:28It's not about if the other side is criminal or is not.
12:33It is about who you are.
12:35Right?
12:35So, I believe that every democratic country, every democratic soul should seek for peace no matter what.
12:45I'm going to ask you, of course, about Albania.
12:47because over the past days we've seen this protest on this real estate project
12:52that allegedly Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump want to carry through.
12:55Are you looking at this protest?
12:57Are you taking into account the backlash?
12:59What is actually happening?
13:01Albania is in a hybrid war.
13:04We are being assaulted.
13:07I saw it through media or through reading happening in other countries, in other circumstances.
13:17But now I'm seeing it in my country.
13:19By who?
13:20Different forces.
13:22That brought in the day one when this war started, this hybrid war started.
13:29I'm not talking about the protest as a war.
13:30I'm talking about a hybrid war because the protests are part of it.
13:33But are part of it in the sense that who is engaged in this war is using the sentiments of
13:40some well-meaning people about environment.
13:43So, this is being weaponized as this real estate construction project?
13:46It's being weaponized big time, not as a real estate construction project.
13:49It's weaponized by the enemies of Albania and of Israel because there is a narrative in the whole thing
14:00that this is about a hidden deal between me and Bibi Netanyahu through Jared Kushner
14:07to bring the Palestinians in that part of Albania, which is a total fantasy.
14:13But guess what?
14:15In this world of manipulation through sentiments...
14:19But also say some talk about the environment, some talk about a massive island.
14:22I'm telling you, massive island.
14:26It's about how deeply the use of social media for pushing false narratives can touch the sentiments.
14:40So, in the first day, imagine, we saw five times more users than the number of users that are the
14:56usual ones in the Albanian social media.
14:59So, you say these protests are being agitated by forces online?
15:02It's a lot of bots, it's a lot of fake profiles, it's a lot of attacks coming from all over.
15:08Now, this is one narrative because Albania has a very proud history of saving the Jews.
15:13Albania has a very proud position of never having had anti-Semitic sentiments.
15:18And there are enemies of Albania, they have names that want to fuel this among the Albanian Muslims that are
15:27incredibly tolerant,
15:29that are amazingly pro-European, that are citizens of Europe and have nothing to do with things.
15:34This is one.
15:34The other narrative that is mixed with that is the environment.
15:40And there are studies, very, very much clear, that how external forces have studies, I mean, not from Albania, from
15:50Sweden, from other countries in Europe,
15:53how external forces hostile to Europe, hostile to democracies, hostile to the enlargement, use environmental issues to fuel false narratives
16:06and to fuel protests.
16:07So, that's also being weaponized in your view.
16:09Weaponized.
16:09Third is, yes, there is a real thing, which is, is there an expression of interest to have a project?
16:18Yes.
16:18Is there a project?
16:20No.
16:20There is no project yet.
16:21The project is being worked by the investors.
16:25We have to see when the project will be presented.
16:29This is the reality.
16:30But are you, are you confident that you will get to a resolution that works, first and foremost, for the
16:36people of Albania?
16:37No, there is no resolution to, there is no resolution to get.
16:40There is a, there is a project to happen in terms of first being designed, being presented, being scrutinized and
16:50approved.
16:51And then there is a project to be built.
16:54There is no resolution.
16:55So, if it works, it goes ahead.
16:56If it doesn't fit a purpose, it will not go ahead.
16:58But there is no chance that the progress in Albania and the projects in Albania will be defined by street
17:04protests.
17:04This is, this will never happen.
17:06In, not under my watch.
17:08Because that would mean what?
17:09That would mean we have to discuss about reality, not about fake reality.
17:15If we have to discuss about a project, yes, we have to discuss about a project.
17:19Everyone is welcome to discuss about a project, but not about fantasies, about projects that do not exist yet, or
17:26about projects that are represented in the, in the social media by being engineered.
17:32And by the someone in love person in travel.
17:35No, no, no.
17:35There are a lot of images that have been, that have been spread in the social media of, of projects
17:43that are not related to the project.
17:47Of dying flamingos, of depressed turtles, and of all this.
17:53It doesn't exist.
17:54So we have to talk about reality.
17:56When the project will be presented, of course, we'll show it and we'll show it proudly.
18:01And I'm sure it will be a project that will, will change a lot in how Europe understands, understands environments
18:10in general.
18:11Because this is the aim.
18:12It's not the aim to take a piece of land to do speculation.
18:15The aim is to, to build the most exclusive and the most environmentally precious destination.
18:27But some people take issue with the exclusive too.
18:30Why?
18:31Because it becomes an elite on land that belongs to the Albanian people.
18:36The land, the land belongs to the investors.
18:39They have bought it from the privates.
18:41And that's, that's part of the issue.
18:43Number one, number two, we are not anymore in the bunker of Enver Hoxha isolated from the world.
18:50We are part of the world.
18:51Number three, exactly because this is investments come, countries change.
18:56Because one euro, and it's not me saying it, one euro that enters in this exclusive, it's, it's 1.5
19:05to 2 euros that enter in the inclusive.
19:09So in the country, in the community.
19:11And when I said exclusive, I said exclusive in terms of architecture.
19:17Top architects among the best in the world are engaged.
19:20About landscaping.
19:22Top landscape architects are engaged.
19:25Top engineers are engaged.
19:26So it's not about doing something disruptive with nature.
19:30It's about creating a role model for how you develop and how you make nature better by bringing people into
19:41nature.
19:41Well, Prime Minister, on that note, thank you so much for your time.
19:44And thank you for joining us on Euronews.
19:46Thank you.
