Bathroom space is already much harder to work with than any other place in the apartment but add in the fact that it's being occupied by three people and a ton of product! This Bushwick, Brooklyn apartment bathroom is in need of some serious organizational help in order for the roommates to have more access to all of their beauty supplies, hair care, tools, and tampons!

00:00Hey, I'm Bee, video producer at Refinery29 with a side hustle as a professional organizer.
00:05I'm here today because Courtney told me that she's dealing with too many roommates at a
00:10small bathroom.
00:11Hi Bee, it's Courtney.
00:13I'm here with my roommate, Mariu.
00:14She's doing her makeup.
00:15I have to go to the bathroom.
00:17Della just got out of the shower.
00:19We all have somewhere to be.
00:20We need help.
00:21Please help us, Bee.
00:23Growing up with three sisters, I can totally relate and I know the pain of everyone getting
00:28ready in a small space.
00:29So let's see what we can do.
00:34Hi.
00:36Welcome to my home.
00:38My name is Courtney.
00:39I live in Brooklyn in Bushwick and I live with my two roommates.
00:42I really want Bee to fix our bathroom with three women.
00:45It can just be too much sometimes, especially when we're all trying to go out.
00:48So this is the entire bathroom.
00:51Yes.
00:51As you can see, there's a ton of product everywhere.
00:55This is only what you can see on the surface.
00:57The most intense thing for me is the shower space.
01:01If you can see, like the ledge is totally just like dominated by product.
01:07Sometimes if I close the shower curtain, like product will just like go flying.
01:12If you go behind here.
01:13Okay.
01:14So it's two hooks.
01:15I see two towels and a baby towel.
01:18Three girls.
01:20Another problem area is definitely under here.
01:23As you can see, it's kind of like a no man's land.
01:26It's just stuff.
01:27Yeah.
01:28It's just like pipes, no shelves.
01:30Okay.
01:31So I always have to ask, are you working with any sort of budget?
01:35Probably around 200 is how much we would want to spend on a project like this.
01:39Okay.
01:39It's important to us, definitely.
01:41Yeah.
01:42So yeah.
01:43Great.
01:43Well, I will take that and see what I can do.
01:47Can't wait to see.
01:49Cool.
01:49Cool.
01:50Let's go.
01:55Okay.
01:56So the three issues that Courtney is dealing with are a place for product inside the shower,
02:01storage for things outside of the shower, and the general disorder underneath the sink.
02:05As you can see, it's a pretty small space.
02:07So it's incredibly important that we're efficient with the space that they do have.
02:10For the shower, I'm putting together the ultimate shower caddy.
02:13Three bins in a row that will tuck away nicely along the wall.
02:16I'm using matching plastic shower caddies and a tension rod, like this one.
02:20This should help Courtney and her roommates keep all the products off the edge of the tub
02:24and easily accessible.
02:25A classic hack that I love is repurposing the traditional over-the-door shoe rack.
02:30In this case, it's a great storage system for beauty products and anything else they
02:34want to neatly tuck behind the door.
02:36Everything is always easy to find.
02:38Courtney also talked about not having enough mirror space.
02:41I thought of a quick fix that doesn't involve putting mirrors all over the bathroom.
02:44I'm making a piece of art that's reversible.
02:47With a cheap picture frame, some artwork, adhesive, and a mirror, it's a customizable solution.
02:54Okay, now that we have our fixes figured out, I'm excited to go move them back into Courtney's bathroom.
02:59Let's go.
03:00Let's go.
03:00Let's go.
03:02Let's go.
03:04Let's go.
03:05Let's go.
03:06Let's go.
03:07Let's go.
03:09Let's go.
03:21Let's go.
03:26All right.
03:28I'm officially done in Courtney's bathroom.
03:30So I'm going to go get her and bring her in.
03:32Good luck in there.
03:35Oh my God.
03:36It's so cute.
03:37I love this.
03:39Beautiful.
03:40Clean.
03:41There must almost...
03:42There's almost nothing left.
03:43Yeah.
03:43All my shit must be somewhere else.
03:45Oh my God.
03:46Damn.
03:48Every girl has a bin.
03:49Yes.
03:50This is the communal tampon bin.
03:53Yes.
03:54Crucial.
03:55This is so smart.
03:56Oh my God.
03:56And then wait.
03:57We got...
03:58Let's shut us...
03:59Let's lock us in here.
04:00Oh my God.
04:01Damn.
04:02So this is like all access.
04:04Yes.
04:05Grab and go.
04:06Like while you're doing your hair.
04:08And three beautiful hangers for all of us.
04:10Everyone can hang a towel.
04:12Last thing.
04:13Okay.
04:13Maybe look in the shower.
04:16Oh my God.
04:18It's so cute.
04:18It's so cute.
04:19I love it.
04:20Yeah.
04:21There's nothing here.
04:22It's beautiful.
04:23Look at all this space around the rim.
04:26There's no...
04:27Damn.
04:27Nothing falling on you.
04:29Yes.
04:29While you're taking a shower.
04:30This is beautiful.
04:31And like you know where your stuff is.
04:32Right.
04:32This is mine.
04:33Love the decoration.
04:34So fun fact about this little thing.
04:37We talked about how you guys are always kind of fighting over the mirror.
04:41Yeah.
04:41So what I did with this thing was I made it a piece of reversible artwork.
04:46Oh really?
04:47So you can see here.
04:50Just like that.
04:51Ah!
04:52Another mirror.
04:53Some more mirror space.
04:54Damn.
04:54Just in case someone's doing their makeup there.
04:58This is perfect.
04:59And you can do your hair here.
05:00This is perfect.
05:01This is so perfect.
05:02I'm so psyched about this.
05:03Good.
05:04Hell yeah.
05:04And then like, you know, no one wants to be vain.
05:07So move it back and you got yourself some artwork.
05:10Fuck yeah.
05:10That's so cool.
05:11So you gave me the budget of $200.
05:14I did.
05:15Can we get a little drum roll?
05:17It came in at $1.19.
05:20Oh my God.
05:21Saving $80?
05:22Right?
05:23Oh yeah.
05:23Put that in your pocket.
05:24Yes.
05:25Ah, it's perfect.
05:26Good.
05:26I'm glad.
05:28Well, it's pretty clear that Courtney liked the bathroom.
05:31We were able to hit all of her goals for the small space and stay under budget.
05:35So we're both happy.
05:36All she has to do now is show her roommates and I'm on to the next one.
05:42Hi, B. We're here in our apartment in our brand new bathroom.
05:46And we just want to tell you thank you.
05:49We love it so much.
05:50You're the best.
05:51Bye.
05:52Yay.
