00:17This house is a house that Elvis and Gladys lived in and he went to school at
00:24Lawhorn School in the third grade. She would walk him to school down the street and around to Lawhorn.
00:34My husband's daddy and Elvis's granddaddy, Jesse and Noah, were brothers.
00:42That's amazing, you still have that. And what Elvis really wanted to have happen in Tupelo
00:49was he wanted the kids to have somewhere to play.
00:52The significance as we understand it from Mrs. Presley's statement is that Elvis
00:57used to play on this land along with all of the other children that went to Longhorn Elementary
01:01School. And you know they just used to come over here and have fun and play around squirrel and
01:06rabbit hunt and run around here and swing on tires and grapevines. We auctioned his jet airplane,
01:12Elvis Presley's jet airplane, back in May. And it was such an interesting process for me,
01:18especially being the younger generation coming up and being a fan of Elvis. It was
01:21it was quite an opportunity for us and the seller of this particular land notified us,
01:28hey you know I've got this and I'd like to do something with it and I think you guys are
01:31the
01:31ones to do it.
