00:00That is the best question anybody's asked me yet.
00:03Hello, James Cameron.
00:05I wanted to start, you know, I think it's so interesting that you had most of this in the bag
00:10quite a few years ago.
00:12And then Way of Water comes out.
00:14I was curious how maybe the reaction from audiences may have changed anything that you wanted to have for Fire
00:21and Ash.
00:21That is the best question anybody's asked me yet, because it's a fluid process, right?
00:26The beautiful thing about performance capture is that we can reproduce any set or setting in the movie almost instantly,
00:32within an hour or so.
00:34So after the Way of Water came out, there were certain things that emerged that required maybe a bit of
00:40clarification.
00:41And there were some things that I pushed out of Way of Water and editing into movie three.
00:46So it was all adjusting itself.
00:49And I also, just over the course of time, I saw some things that I felt I had done slightly
00:54wrong in the script.
00:55For example, Jake doesn't get the Tarouk in the shooting script of Fire and Ash.
01:01I pulled that forward, actually, from a scene that was taking place in movie four.
01:06Because I said, no, I've got to answer this question.
01:08And once he has his moment with Spider, and you know the one I'm talking about, and we shouldn't talk
01:13about it,
01:13but there's only one path from that moment forward, and it's to get that thing and to change history and
01:21redawn that mantle of leadership that he's been avoiding.
01:25That's a huge change.
01:26So I just call up all the actors and say, hey, guys, I got an idea, you know.
