00:00Hi guys, so as you may have seen OpenAI have released their latest image model over the last
00:05couple of days, GPT Image 2.0 and I've been having a lot of fun having a play with it
00:11and comparing
00:11it to Nano Banana Pro from Google. What we're going to do in this video is just quickly run
00:17through a load of examples that are focused on creators, so creating content particularly for
00:23social media and I've got a ton of different niches that I've had a look at and a ton of
00:26different styles. Now at the high level, the prevailing opinion is that GPT Image 2.0 is the
00:32winning model, so Nano Banana Pro has finally been dethroned as the go-to. Now that's not always
00:38true, there are a couple of times and a couple of use cases where you still want to be using
00:42Nano
00:42Banana Pro, such as when you're doing anything with aesthetics, when you're trying to match a style of
00:48a particular image and it's also slightly better when you're doing a large volume or a large batch
00:53of images. However, GPT Image 2.0 is significantly better with text rendering, it's more realistic,
01:00it's crazy seeing some of the images that are coming out of GPT Image 2.0. I literally sometimes
01:06can't tell that it's created by AI. It's very good at complex layout, so multi-panel graphics, news cards,
01:13it's got a thinking mode, so a little bit like Nano Banana 2 from Google. It has the ability to
01:18go off and
01:18do a bit of research to make sure that what it's rendering in the image is factually correct and up
01:23to date and it's very very good at following your instructions depending on what is in your prompt.
01:30From a pricing perspective GPT Image 2.0 has more range, so the first thing is it has these quality
01:35modes, low, medium and high and then it does have the ability to produce a 1k, 2k and then 4k
01:42is currently
01:43still experimental but it can be done. Now all of the images that we're going to look through today
01:47have been generated on medium quality as that is a very similar price to Nano Banana Pro, not via the
01:54API, via the API Nano Banana Pro is slightly more expensive but by third-party providers they are
02:00roughly the same cost that coming in coming in at about five or six cents, so that is a fair
02:06comparison
02:06and also very very cheap for the level of quality we're getting. However, for the top level of GPT Image
02:122.0,
02:12GPT Image 2.0 on high mode at 4k you can get for roughly 40 cents via some 30-party
02:19providers and so
02:21cost can balloon there. Cool, so what we're going to do is we're just going to run through a bunch
02:25of
02:26comparisons across different niches. So what I've done is I've looked at trending content on social media
02:34and I've tried to replicate those images to see if in our workflows and our agents and our automations we
02:41are
02:41able to just one-shot our image content. So this is a really really fun experiment and basically GPT Image
02:492.0
02:50is going to massively speed up some of our automations and workflows. We don't need to separate out
02:54the tasks of creating the image and then rendering the text and then overlaying logos or things like
03:00that we can actually now one-shot it. That is the summary. So this is from a post I saw
03:05that was
03:06guess which animal this eye is from. So I mean both of these would perform really well achieving that goal
03:12but in terms of the actual image quality GPT Image here on the left so GPT Image 2 is going
03:17to be on the
03:17left the whole time and Nano Banana Pro on the right. GPT Image is better here and one little detail
03:24that I
03:24really like is you can see the reflection of the person taking the photo in this eye so that's a
03:29really really nice touch. Next one that I went into was a news post so this is a something that's
03:35trending at the moment but the headline here is half of young people would never fight for Britain
03:41and then we've got an image of some soldiers here. So I think on both sides here it's pretty good.
03:47We've got the image and the text rendering absolutely fine and for some reason Nano Banana Pro added
03:55the the name of a fake newspaper. I'm sure there is a newspaper called the Daily Chronicle
04:00but that isn't something I would have wanted. One touch that I do like from Nano Banana Pro is the
04:05bayonets on the on the rifles there. I think that is a typically British thing and so that's a nice
04:12little detail there but in terms of the picture quality again GPT Image is is winning there.
04:19So then we've got a geopolitical map image so obviously right now there's there's a conflict
04:26over in the Middle East and news is really really popping off on social media and so a lot of
04:33people
04:33are going to social media for the news so this kind of image to go alongside some kind of news
04:37article
04:38or breaking news is really really popular at the moment. Now GPT Image is the significant winner here.
04:45Firstly this is you can go and have a look this is I believe in and around Lebanon and that
04:53is
04:53genuinely what it looks like. So I think the GPT Image search feature is coming in handy here and this
04:59is a legitimate flag. These are the correct locations and that is genuinely where they appear on the map.
05:05So that's really cool and then over here firstly I'm not sure that this is a flag and well it
05:11might be but not
05:12one that I recognize and then I've also had a quick look at these the words that are rendering here
05:17and these aren't real places. So I think the geographically the the countries are roughly
05:24right and but the the text that's rendering here isn't isn't quite right and you know coastal zone
05:29is what it says here is is probably not something that you'd see on a map and then the other
05:34thing is
05:34it's uh also quite clearly in um some kind of newsroom and you can see they're on google chrome
05:41here it's all just a bit weird and and and also then you've got the magnifying glass that doesn't
05:47quite look right in terms of how it physically render and yeah so basically GPT Image is the clear
05:54winner here and for that specific prompt and this resource I'll make available below you can have a look
06:01you can download all the prompts um so you can check that out for yourself and replicate and have
06:07a play next one we've got going into the faith niche here and we've got a nice uh faith related
06:13quote
06:13on a on a nice um background here now this is uh both of these look really good I think
06:20actually I
06:20prefer the nano banana pro one just because we have a better contrast so this is slightly easier to read
06:26it pops out stops the scroll a little bit better probably um so yeah nano banana pro winning on that
06:32front and of course as we go through these like it might be that the prompting uh isn't quite right
06:38um for for both models and actually we're using the same prompt for both and that might not be the
06:43right
06:43thing I'm sure as time goes on we'll see that uh you know the prompt that we want to use
06:48for GPT Image 2
06:49and the prompt that we want to use for nano banana pro is slightly different uh so we've just got
06:54to bear
06:54that in mind so this one another uh another faith related uh text on a with a with some graphic
07:01I
07:01think both of these look really good the colors pop pop a little bit more on the left uh but
07:05the
07:05right hand one looks a little bit more realistic I think uh so that's probably a preference thing
07:11next we've got something in uh the animal niche and this is something that again is popping off
07:16social media uh really really uh stops you know makes people engage because it's emotional it's about
07:22dogs not being adopted uh so here we've got an image of a dog that isn't being adopted with with
07:28a
07:29set of texts from people that have come to visit the dogs basically saying uh no we don't we don't
07:34want this dog um which is obviously very sad uh and uh again you know this is this is a
07:40tough one I
07:40actually quite like the color scheme of the one on the right uh but in terms of the text rendering
07:45we've
07:45got some uh you know double spaces going on we've got time stamps everywhere on the nano banana side uh
07:52so
07:52it's almost it's a bit confusing it's like this is trying to be a phone screen with the time stamps
07:58and the today are and delivered whereas this is just the screenshots of the of the text so I actually
08:02prefer uh gpt image here uh overall next we've got another animal one uh you know nice uh nice quote
08:12here
08:13animals do speak but only to those who know how to listen both of these look pretty good uh again
08:18the
08:18colors are popping a little bit more on the left hand side so probably a preference thing maybe
08:23slightly more performant on social media stopping the scroll there um but both pretty good uh on the
08:29whole next one we've got uh this is another pet one uh where there was a story about a dog
08:35that
08:36whenever it snows goes to visit his friend and then a nice image of the dog in the snow there
08:41um both look pretty good i think the the dog here looks a bit nuts which maybe is a good
08:47thing
08:47um but yeah both really good difficult to difficult to call a winner there um mostly i think this is
08:54going to be dependent on um your niche and your style and things like that so when you've just got
09:01these plain images here like this uh i'd say there's not a huge huge uh amount of difference to go
09:07on
09:07but uh next up then we've got uh something which is like a viral debate it's kind of like meme
09:13style
09:14um so left-handed pencil 20 cents right-handed pencil five for a dollar and then a nice uh big
09:23bit of
09:23text to to pull people in this photo is going viral as people debate which of the two offers is
09:28the
09:28better deal uh so the left hand one is is the better image here because um for some reason
09:36nano banana pro decided to uh generate this sort of almost like it's already a social media post so
09:42really we would want the image on the left so that we could post it ourselves uh but on the
09:46right here
09:47we've got some of that stuff already rendering and so not quite the one again could be down to the
09:52prompt uh but gpt image landing slightly better in terms of the actual use case in terms of the image
09:59though both very very good uh the text is rendered absolutely fine uh so yeah uh possibly a prompting
10:06issue there okay next one uh you guys may have seen this one another thing that's going a bit viral
10:11on social media at the moment so a guy with a tattoo um that well you can see if you
10:18can work out
10:18yourself but that the the long story short is that uh only gpt image was the one to actually understand
10:24the prompt and what did it what it was that was after uh this is a this is a true
10:29representation of
10:29what the tattoo looks like this is just uh complete gibberish this this really isn't um anything so
10:36yeah the the tattoo reads reads if not now then when um but over here we've got uh some kind
10:43of uh
10:45weird version of that going on again uh text wise pretty good on both uh both accounts like nice and
10:52bold nice nice um uh color contrast going on but gpt image absolutely smashing it on the actual tattoo
10:59itself i do like the um sort of almost the the raw skin uh as if that has just freshly
11:05been tattooed
11:06from nano banana and but uh like we're seeing here that from a understanding of the prompt and following
11:12instructions and text rendering uh gpt images coming through there slightly better okay next up we've
11:18got a nice motivational quote journey may be slow but every step is shaping your strength both very
11:22very good um we've got an at your handle here from nano banana pro um which probably can be uh
11:30sorted out with a better prompting but uh both both very nice images i think so no clear winner here
11:36next into the gardening niche with an infographic um now now i find this quite interesting because
11:44it's almost like nano banana pro wanted to give the tip on the infographic whereas um gpt image was a
11:52little bit more a little bit better at following my prompt and where it's just almost teasing the the
11:58reader to click in so i think what would happen here and what we see on social media as a
12:03strategy is that
12:04you would want to direct traffic from social media off to a website or somewhere else and this image
12:11for me does does a slightly better job because we're not giving too much away whereas uh nano banana is
12:16trying to give uh the tip in in the infographic itself so uh it depends what you're going for but
12:22i think gpt image follows the prompt better here both very good though both very very uh very very
12:28impressive infographics uh next we've got another um sort of attention grabbing image whereby we're
12:37trying to direct users off somewhere else so why should stop chasing trends and start investing in
12:42heirlooms it might be that we've we've got the information in the prompt or or again as i say
12:46linking off to an article below um both pretty good and i think the image itself is better with gpt
12:54uh for
12:54some reason nano banana has gone crazy on the books um so we've just got stacks and stacks of books
13:00here
13:00everywhere which i think looks a little bit unnatural uh whereas gpt image is slightly more realistic
13:05there uh next one then is uh again another news news thing but focused on health uh to do with
13:13whether or not marijuana genuinely eases anxiety and depression both very very good here and really really
13:19clear bold font um nice imagery alongside it so no clear winner for me on that one maybe the color
13:27contrast is slightly better with gpt image um but both pretty good next um got sort of a meme style
13:34image uh like a country country meme so they raised my trust issues and we've got a picture of iceland
13:41a picture of greenland whereby iceland is green and greenland is icy uh both pretty good there um no real
13:48no no real clear winner for me on that one both look really good next one we've got another meme
13:53style uh here bro wants tips from the best hi i have an exam tomorrow so any cheating tips um
13:59i think
14:00both both again look pretty good i'd say this one may be slightly better it's got the actual whatsapp
14:04uh gpt images managed to pull the actual whatsapp um color scheme there slightly better this one is uh yeah
14:13it's more like the iphone um iphone ui but with the whatsapp coloring so it's almost a little bit
14:19confused there um so yeah but gpt image has gone quite hard on the snake she's uh snake in the
14:26name
14:26and snake is the profile picture um which i don't think they would do um i don't think that they
14:31would
14:31have their profile picture as a snake so um possibly a slight defect there on gpt image but pretty good
14:39um from both of them there uh next one then another um sort of well meme style thing about a
14:48former us
14:49maroon broken the world planking record at the time of 8 hours 15 minutes 15 seconds you realize how insane
14:53that is uh and then the the meme being eight hours one minute and i'm vibrating like a nokia 3220
14:59uh so i quite like this um on both sides really i think the the fact that this is uh
15:06a profile picture
15:08of a nokia again is probably not not quite right um but i do much prefer the image of the
15:12man i think
15:13the detail here and how someone would look after doing eight hours of planking is probably slightly
15:19more realistic um this guy looks pretty pretty chilled out um i suppose it could have been taken
15:24early on in the plank uh but but as i say from the uh for the image of the user
15:30who's replying there i
15:31think actually uh nano banana pro slightly more realistic all of these are good enough to post
15:36though right like uh you know pretty much uh they're they're all really really impressive so
15:41um yeah just just just wow next uh got iphone brightness meme sometimes this isn't uh is this
15:49just isn't enough i need it lower so a couple of issues for me on the right hand side uh
15:55from nano
15:56banana pro is that i think this is slightly off in terms of the ui um i think this is
16:03closer to what
16:04the iphone uh ui looks like in terms of the layout and the number of icons that you see
16:09and then the second thing is that you've got this isn't low enough but it's not quite at the bottom
16:14um and even gpt image isn't quite there because actually when it's at its lowest you have got no bar
16:21here uh so neither of them are actually quite right um but pretty good um pretty good i'm being very
16:29critical probably good enough to post as a meme uh next another meme they cannot outsmart you if
16:34you're not smart and then a picture of a cat uh looking pretty proud of himself uh both pretty good
16:39i slightly prefer the imagery on the left but both really really impressive and then final one the
16:47dude in the background really knows he's gonna hear about this all day and then depicting a proposal
16:51in a restaurant so gpt image definitely wins on this one because on the right hand side it doesn't
16:57really quite make sense um the the guy is by himself he's not with a partner uh so it doesn't
17:03this meme doesn't really make sense with that image uh however with this one he is he's clearly
17:08with his partner uh looking a bit disgruntled about this so uh yeah gpt image really really winning on
17:14this one so as i say this resource will be available you can come in have a play copy copy
17:20any of these
17:20prompts have a look at the model comparison here um summary from my perspective is that gpt image
17:26is slightly better across the board on uh rendering social media content i think if you're just going
17:33for imagery so things like these like in the pet niche it probably doesn't really matter uh too much
17:38but but when you're soon joining introducing text or slightly more complex components gpt image does seem
17:45to be performing uh slightly better however as i say prompting uh techniques will probably improve
17:51slightly but start to get a bit of a feel for what is working really well on gpt image versus
17:56nanobanana uh i know that for example if you use the word photo realism when you're using gpt image
18:02that really really helps to make that photo look realistic uh rather than having that slight fake
18:07ai twinge to it uh but yeah i think we'll leave it there guys hopefully uh you found that useful
18:13you
18:13will start to use it in your uh workflows a little bit more uh and long may the the competition
18:20for
18:20best image model continue and there's not much not much further to go uh but absolutely loving it so
18:27far all right guys thanks very much for watching and i'll catch you in the next one
