00:12Organized by Star Media Group, the two-day fair featured companies from engineering, finance, technology, rail and consumer services, with
00:20employers highlighting the need for adaptability and continuous learning in an AI-driven job market.
00:25As a diamond sponsor of the event, Venovox's Sendirian Berhad received a certificate of recognition from Star Media Group senior
00:33manager, events and exhibitions, Elaine Wong.
00:37Venovox Chief Executive Officer Sharmila Gunasekaran said the company's first participation at the fair had been an interesting experience and
00:44likely would not be its last.
00:46I think it's an interesting experience it has been from the start to now. Definitely a lot of opportunities for
00:51companies as well as for candidates.
00:53And for job seekers, I think if you walk in, do not be shy. I see a lot of very
00:56shy job seekers still where we are actually actively approaching them.
01:00So I think the important thing is don't be shy. Understand the roles they are with the different companies as
01:04well.
01:04Understand the expectations because I think the most important thing is to understand if you have the right qualification.
01:10Other sponsors said they were seeking passionate young candidates from diverse educational backgrounds who are eager to learn and grow
01:16within the company.
01:17Now we are in artificial AI era, right? So people are struggling to secure their job because a lot of
01:24jobs are being replaced by AI.
01:26But nevertheless, in DHL, we are integrating AI as well in our roles. We still need somebody who are managing
01:32that AI or managing the system.
01:34So we are still looking for people who have the background of managing the AI and technology as well as
01:40financial skills and knowledge as well to be part of us.
01:45MBF is a very diverse company. We have multiple industries like in healthcare, education, we have manufacturing industries, we have
01:53clinics and all that.
01:56Yes, everyone has their strength. So I believe we will build in the strength of the graduates instead of looking
02:03at the downside.

02:29How much more money?
02:30They come to me for advisors and they are very enthusiastic. And I like to see that they are very
02:36proactive in trying to make a change in their life.
02:39And of course people always ask like, am I too old? That one gets popped up very often too. I
02:45hope nobody is too old or too young for anything.
02:48Today I think there are a lot of quality employers, a lot of quality employees looking, prospects looking for jobs.
02:54So I think atmosphere is wonderful.
02:55So I was very impressed with the stage set up. I thought initially that nobody would be, you know, it
03:01won't be full, not many people visiting them there, but so many people ended up listening to those sessions.
03:05Meanwhile, visitors described the fair as helpful for young people entering the workforce and praised recruiters for being approachable and
03:13proactive.
03:14This is my first time, so I'm quite nervous because the question that from the company, it's been like a
03:23needle for me because, yeah, I didn't face the very sharp question that I got for my career about my
03:31experience past before, but I enjoy that.
03:34I'm actually an assistant manager right now, so I, yeah, I've never been to a job fair, so this is
03:40my first time, so I'm just giving it a try.
03:42But I guess the good part about this is that I get to meet some people out of all the
03:47booths here, and they are willing to help me out, so I think that's a good thing, yeah.
03:51Visitors can also participate in a job matching initiative where recruiters and potential employees engage in sit-down interviews and
03:59resume review alongside lucky draw sessions and other activities.
04:02The event runs until Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with free admission.
