The war game scenario was this: One of NATO 's newest members, Sweden, was under threat by an unnamed country that was building up troops along the military alliance's eastern border. And in an unusual twist, non-NATO member Ukraine was there to advise on drone warfare — and delivered a critical warning to the alliance.

Swedish, American and Ukrainian forces are taking part in Swedish-led military exercises on the Baltic island of Gotland. Ukrainian drone teams are joining the NATO drill as Sweden deepens military cooperation with NATO allies and Kyiv. (via The Associated Press)

00:00Mix of everything from everywhere
00:23They want a drone, right?
00:28All the potential
00:33Because Gotland is the key terrain in the Baltic Sea
00:36If you have Gotland, you're able to control the Baltic Sea in a much easier way than if you're not
00:47on Gotland
01:03In the Baltic Sea, you can say that the level of the Baltic Sea is enough to go to the
01:17Baltic Sea in the Baltic Sea
01:26And it will be a better result
01:28In this event, the commander will see what happens on the ship
01:42They are miles ahead of us when it comes to drone warfare
01:46So we really appreciate them coming here to share their experiences with us
01:51And we have a lot to learn from them
02:05About 100% they don't understand the concept
02:08But they started to understand the concept
02:11They are concerned about the way they have to show us
02:13For example, we work with one of the crew,
02:19which damage can be taken by one of the crew.
02:23They understand 100% but they know what can be.
02:57yeah the scenario is about we have on the eastern side of the NATO borders on the eastern side like
03:04Finland and the Baltic states we have a massive build-up of enemy units so concentration of units
03:09on that side and also have within Sweden other allied nations we have hybrid activities it's
03:14an increased level of hybrid activities like sabotage cyber attacks influence operation things like that
03:45so
04:07again within especially if I'll speak for the US military obviously but we've got to be globally
04:11ready so you know when you know when our nation called you know obviously some of our forces
04:17we have had to have forces that you know have been gone on other missions I think with what you
04:22see
04:23here though we're able this is a priority obviously by still having US capability here we maintain a
04:27priority to continue to train and exercise within NATO and involved
04:48so I think we should be on our toes not waiting for whatever year to come in that regard obviously
04:56when they have regenerated their forces they will propose quite a big threat but they know one
05:02thing and that is that the whole west is now building our defense and our warfighting capabilities
05:07so I ask myself why wait
05:29start going on
05:33if we are going to increase this is a little bit more if we are going to move to another
05:51one
