00:03There's a couple of flash points for yourselves, did you feel that you were hard done by in terms of
00:10the penalty shouts, one in each half?
00:13I thought at the time in the first half probably, I haven't seen that one back.
00:19Coaches have said that they think there might have been a little bit of contact in the ball, so if
00:23that's the case, fair enough I suppose.
00:26The one in the second half when Kev is going through and Thiago squares it to him.
00:32In what world he goes down unless there's contact is beyond me because there's a goal there for him to
00:37get us back to 1-1.
00:39That's probably the one where I'm struggling to comprehend a little bit.
00:45After 60 minutes when the goal went in, was it as you planned, it seemed to be working what you
00:51were doing?
00:53You've always got a plan but so have they and so have the individuals that they have.
00:58You've got to be so focused, so concentrated, so organised.
01:02The desire, the personality has to be there in abundance and I felt that was.
01:06I thought we actually started the second half really well and caused them some problems.
01:12The reality is that their first goal is an absolute wonderstrike.
01:15The second goal is Tad Scruffy and their toured goal as we're chasing the game obviously
01:20and leaving a little bigger spaces than we ideally would have liked to.
01:24But I liked a lot of what we did today, I liked the approach.
01:28Ultimately I don't love the scoreline but there's a lot to take back with us that we can move forward
01:34in the last couple of games.
01:38Yes, over there.
01:45Obviously not the result you won but looking at the table you're still in the race for Europe.
01:50Is it something you think will help Bramford grow?
01:55I know we are a club that's very ambitious, we're a very humble but hungry club.
02:03Probably wasn't the target at the start of the season, I think everybody would be pretty honest around that.
02:07The amount of change naturally that happened last summer and I think so far we've had a very good season.
02:13We're just really keen to continue that.
02:17I haven't seen anything other than ambition and energy from the players in the last few weeks as the squatters
02:24were getting a few injuries back
02:26and we're starting to look a little bit stronger from the bench, more options.
02:29So I anticipate we'll get two good performances in the last two games and let's see where that leaves us.
02:37You've been up here twice in the last couple of weeks, Old Trafford and here, played pretty well in large
02:41spells and come away with nothing.
02:42Is that just the nature of the Premier League and how tough it is?
02:46Yes, the levels I suppose.
02:50Just the individuals that you're playing against, you've got to be clinical when you come to places like this and
02:58when you get the moments you've got to take them.
03:02You always need a little bit of luck at times. Sorry, that always helps.
03:09But in terms of performances, I think from where we were at the start of the season, how we're playing,
03:13the journey that we're on,
03:15we'll constantly look to evolve what we do, how we do it and always look to play in a brave
03:20way.
03:21So I've nothing but admiration for our group of players and the way they approach big games, big teams, without
03:31fear really.
03:32And we'll keep pushing that.
03:34Just on the second penalty shot, have you had any explanation from the referee about what he thought he saw
03:39to not give it?
03:41The comment I heard was not enough contact, but someone that is as quick as Kevin Chardy, with his eyes
03:48on goal,
03:49I'm not really sure how much contact he's looking for.
03:52Presumably, if he's clean through on goal and he's got a chance to score,
03:56there doesn't have to be an awful lot of contact in his back to give a...
03:59No, not how quick Kev is as well and the nature of it.
04:02So, yeah, that was a disappointment. Listen, I'm the first to say,
04:07some people in this room might have heard me say this before,
04:10the officials have a really difficult job, but I do genuinely appreciate that.
04:14It's so hard, the speed of the game.
04:17At times, players are trying to get the decisions and it's really, really hard for them.
04:24I just felt we weren't going to get that one.
04:27Jeff at the back.
04:33Hi, Keith. You say that Europe wasn't the target at the start of the season.
04:37When you took the job, what was your target?
04:40And how can you explain how the season has evolved?
04:45The target was initially to stabilise, probably an uncertain environment
04:51because of the amount of changes, I think that's fair to say.
04:56Build a new team, a lot of players left.
04:59Some players had to settle in.
05:00We needed to find a way of playing that suited all the players.
05:04And we've grown as the season's gone on in terms of how we've played.
05:08Some of the players have really excelled in the environment that we've created
05:12and how we've pushed the environment to be really, really supportive,
05:16but equally demanding.
05:18And I'm really, really keen on players playing with personality.
05:22And I think we continue to do that right to the end.
05:26And I don't see that changing in the last couple of games.
05:29Hi, Keith.
05:30Hey.
05:31How do you set up your team to deal with a threat like Jeremy Doku,
05:34who gets the ball so often and is always basically going to do the same thing,
05:38but it's always so hard to stop?
05:40He's a top player.
05:41I think anybody who hadn't seen him play only needed to look at the game on Monday night.
05:48I think you can over-cover him.
05:50You can put two players on him.
05:52But with the nature of City and the level of talent that they have,
05:55if you do that, then there's always going to be room for somewhere else.
05:59And someone else will exploit that.
06:01I mentioned it coming into the game.
06:03If it's not Doku, it's going to be some of the players stepping up
06:06at whatever stage of the season.
06:08And that's the luxury, I suppose, Pep has.
06:10He's got phenomenally talented players, game-changing players,
06:13players that are capable of moments to decide games.
06:18And ultimately, I suppose, that's what he did with the first goal.
06:21So what do you do in terms of over-covering?
06:23How do you juggle those thoughts?
06:27You try and strike the balance.
06:29Because it's not just Jeremy Doku.
06:32It's Semenyo, it's Haaland, it's O'Reilly arriving in pockets.
06:37It's Ryan who's making half-space runs.
06:39It's a collective effort, as it always is.
06:43And one week, it'll be Doku.
06:45Next week, it'll be Semenyo.
06:48Are we done?
06:50I think we're done.
06:50Thank you very much.
