00:00You know, J.Y., we haven't updated these odds for people
00:02in quite some time, but these odds opened up
00:05with Darren Peterson as the favorite to go first overall.
00:08They soon flipped to A.J. DeBansa.
00:11A.J. DeBansa is now minus 450.
00:15450 to be the first overall pick.
00:17Does that surprise you?
00:22Honestly, no.
00:25The favorite, no, maybe 450 is a little rich.
00:30But if you kind of peel back and look at, let's say, the odds, right?
00:35You know, Washington, Indiana, Brooklyn, Utah, Sacramento.
00:42Well, if it's Washington, they win, they're going to take DeBansa.
00:46If it's Indiana, they have Halliburton,
00:49and you're not going to play them two small guards like that.
00:51If it's Brooklyn, they took 15,000 point guards last year,
00:55so they can't take them.
00:57Utah, I think I'm a huge Keontae George guy,
01:00and I think maybe if you turn around and get DeBansa,
01:04you may move marketing, right?
01:06Sacramento, they need everything.
01:08So to me, when you start looking at the board of where,
01:12not best available, but fit, either or, it's DeBansa.
01:17And I think this whole report coming out in the last week
01:21about the amount of – this boy's taking Creighton, Lord.
01:24The amount of Creighton this guy was taking,
01:26it led to the cramps and all this other stuff.
01:28I think it just lines up to me that not only has DeBansa
01:33the best prospect, he's got incredible upside,
01:38and he's actually safer in regards to what you think you're getting now
01:43in regards to what he can do over Peterson.
01:47So it's a weird one for me, but I think you said the key word,
01:52which is why DeBansa is minus 450, safe.
01:58I think people are, hey, is Boozer actually this good?
02:04Like, to be very clear, Cam Boozer, as a freshman,
02:07was the best player on the number one team in the country
02:12and won the Wooden Award in a complete route.
02:17He was unbelievable, but he's not seven feet or he doesn't –
02:24it just doesn't look as, like, clean, if you will, I guess, is the right –
02:31aesthetically, it doesn't maybe look like a number one overall pick.
02:35Darren Peterson, coach mentions, it comes out that apparently he was just,
02:40I don't know, loading up on creatine, and that's why he was cramping all the time,
02:43but now he's figured this whole thing out, which, okay, got it, right?
02:47But it was a weird season.
02:49Caleb Wilson, if you'd like to throw him in the mix,
02:52I think suffered two major injuries at North Carolina,
02:56which is always concerning.
03:01But people need to remember this was supposed to be a real race,
03:05and it was a race that was supposed to have, you know, Darren Peterson out in front.
03:11I am not running to bet Peterson nor Boozer in this moment.
03:16I just also would never bet minus 450 on AJ right now because it does feel like, you know,
03:26if Memphis wins the first pick and takes Cameron Boozer, that would be completely unsurprising to me.
03:33If Atlanta wins the first pick and thinks, nope, the perfect fit for us is Darren Peterson,
03:39that would not be surprising either.
03:41And also, if a team getting the first overall pick decides to get nutty and trade it,
03:47although that's super unlikely, but you never know.
03:50I just think, J.Y., this is a spot right now where I'm very excited to see who wins the
03:55lottery.
03:55But I think, as we've been saying, that's going to then really help us figure out
03:59how the draft order is going to fall in terms of, you know, who's going where.
04:05And I think you're absolutely right.
04:07Styles and what teams need are going to be important.
04:10I also think, Kevin, you're right.
04:12There's going to be trades depending on who wants to move up or move down to get a certain player.
04:16It's exciting because, honestly, the depth of the class is really, really high and not a lot in 2027.
04:24Are you rooting for or against anybody on lottery night?
04:29Okay, if Oklahoma City wins the lottery, I'm done.
04:32If they get the bands up, pack it up, drive home safely, I'm not watching the NBA anymore.
04:36However, the spin zone of if OKC wins it is, I think, will forever beat the rigged allegations, right?
04:46Like, if OKC wins it, then there's no way they rigged it for that.
04:52You know what I would like to see?
04:54The worst teams be able to select the best players.
04:58That'd be nice.
04:59That's it.
04:59That's it.
04:59That's it.
