00:00When you grab a snapshot of the Eastern Conference playoffs and, you know, yes, it's partly because they were the
00:07first team to advance, but the vibes around the Knicks, when is the last time they were this high?
00:18I guess after the first two wins in Boston a year ago, I guess that would be, so, but man,
00:25oh man, the New York Knicks, there's so many reasons why, so I want to hear your, because we're going
00:33to get to Atlanta, some of the Atlanta stuff I think actually might be a little cut and dry, we'll
00:37do it, but the Knicks win 140-89, they close this series in the sixth after a 2-1 series
00:43deficit, where are you at on New York right now?
00:47Which New York team's going to show up? I mean, let's be honest, I don't, Kevin, I wonder if Mike
00:55Brown was playing the rope-a-dope, like literally the first three games of this series, because you know where
01:02I'm going with this, Kevin, I have been screaming when Mike Brown got hired, all I thought about is how
01:09Steve Kerr used Draymond in that pitch post,
01:14and that split screen or flex action, right? Throw the ball to the elbow, run cutters off of them, then
01:21Mike Brown brings it to Damatis Sabonis, who let's be honest, has not been the same since, since Mike Brown
01:27left, right?
01:28This guy was almost a walking triple-double at some point, Damatis Sabonis, playing all NBA levels. So when he
01:34got to the Knicks, I said, okay, well, that's what we're going to do.
01:39And they waited. And then they waited. And they waited. And then all of a sudden, after game three, Mike
01:46Brown's like, dang, maybe I should put Cat at the high post and run flood to split screen action.
01:53And it completely opened up their offense. OG was better. Cat was phenomenal. Hart played great defense. You got stuff
02:03off the bench. And I'm going to say something that is not going to be popular with Knick fans.
02:13They're best when the ball goes through Cat at the high post and not brunt and dribbling the ball. It's
02:18simple as that. If you think about basketball one-on-one, Atlanta was able to load up, particularly late in
02:24game two,
02:25because it was like run hard through one-on-one, brunt and save us. When the ball is at Cat's
02:32ability, and Cat is a very underrated player. You can talk about how he plays or his mannerisms, some of
02:37that.
02:37The guy at seven feet tall can pass the rock. So if you run cutters off of him, the Knicks
02:44become more dangerous. Yes. Did Atlanta kind of fold up? Yes.
02:52But you got to give New York credit in regards to how they adjusted. Now, they got real quick. If
02:59they're going to win next series, particularly in Boston,
03:02Mikel Bridges has got to be way better than what he is. But you're hoping that his performance in game
03:07six may unlock him because him and OG are going to be the pivotal ones,
03:12especially defensively, if they have to go against Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum.
