00:007-1-3-5-7-2-4-6-10 on the base power text line.
00:04Have we reached it to a point where the Astros need to make a major move?
00:11This is, this one was, this one was really tough over the weekend.
00:17They get their asses swept by the Cardinals.
00:19They're not even that good.
00:23It's not ideal.
00:24It's not.
00:25It is early though, Tyler.
00:27It's early.
00:28It's so early.
00:29They play 162 of these things.
00:31Now they are, they are currently eight and 15, Tyler.
00:35Nice fart sound.
00:36They are eight and 15.
00:37Yeah.
00:38Now the division lead is 500.
00:41They're 11 and 11.
00:43The division lead is 500.
00:44So that, I mean, it's not like, again, that's a saving grace.
00:48They're not running away from anybody, but this pitching just absolutely sucks.
00:52It's not getting better.
00:53It's awful.
00:55Awful.
00:56Uh, we'll see how long Hunter Brown's going to take for him to get back.
00:59But, I mean, he ain't Jesus Christ.
01:02He can't be out there every single day and, and pitching the bullpen too.
01:07Uh, it's, it's, I mean, it's getting rough.
01:09I mean, whichever way you go about it.
01:12But Clint, it feels like the season, the season is slipping away and the Astros probably need
01:21to do something to shake things up something.
01:24And I, and, and, and many, many occasions it to me, I will, I'll tell you right now.
01:28I think it's, and you know how I've had fun with captain Joe.
01:32I think, I think captain needs to turn in his badge.
01:36Um, I, that to me would be the, the move you've got Omar Lopez, as Clint has mentioned,
01:41um, who just, uh, who just won a championship as the WBC manager.
01:47Uh, and he's over there on the bench.
01:49He's been there for several years.
01:51So he knows the players.
01:53I just feel like you have to do something to shake things up because this thing is going
01:57down.
01:58They're not responding.
01:59Um, and, uh, and, and they've got to do something or this season is lost and maybe they're, and
02:03maybe they've thrown in the towel.
02:05I don't know.
02:05Maybe they're, or at least going to a space of, all right, we're not going to do too much,
02:09but it's hard to watch what your Don is doing every day.
02:13Just the best hitter in baseball could be an MVP candidate.
02:16And then you look over there and your starters can't go five innings.
02:21And you're actually like, all right, I'll take it five innings.
02:24And like, I'll take it.
02:25And, and it's still not good enough for you.
02:28So it's, it's rough, Clint.
02:30And there needs to be a change to be made with the Astros.
02:32Well, it's rough.
02:34And, and look, I've, I've got, I've got a similar take, I guess, on both Astros and
02:37the Rockets.
02:38Like there, there is a, the low hanging fruit of boy injuries have just been a problem.
02:42Boy, these guys, you know, these guys that they're calling up just ain't been worth a
02:46damn.
02:47And, and, you know, even the guys that haven't been injured, boy, they ain't been worth it.
02:51Like there, there's clearly plenty of excuses or plenty of soft tosses you can throw out
02:56there.
02:57But the reality of it is we're in position to win games and the decisions that are made
03:03are mind boggling.
03:05In my opinion, at times, like we, we, we, we sit here and, and we, and we talk about it
03:10and it's ha ha, you know, it's, it's not a big deal.
03:13It's a long season and, and it's knowing damn good and well that it makes no sense.
03:18And then all of a sudden it bites you in the ass.
03:20And we want to talk about somebody making a mistake or the, the, the, the, the, the,
03:26the organization, you know, they, they don't, you know, they had to play one short on what
03:29was that Saturday or Sunday, I guess Sunday.
03:31And all those things are true.
03:33But the reality of it is when you're in position to win games, when injuries aren't a factor,
03:38that's the part that I want to talk about.
03:40That's the part that I can't stand to watch.
03:42That's the part that is, that's disgusting for me to go out there and watch the wheels come
03:46off of a picture that I didn't know who he was three months ago.
03:48It hurts as an Astros fan, but it's like, all right, we put ourself in that position to,
03:53to, to watch Joe Espada pull what he pulled with Bryce Matthews and, and, and, and East
04:00sock parade.
04:00He's in the eighth inning of a tie ball game blows my mind.
04:04Like it's one thing to, to, to be sub 500, to be off to a slow start.
04:11But some of the, some of the stuff just absolutely blows my mind.
04:14And I talked about it two, two weeks ago.
04:15This ain't the first, it's not just a matter of convenience for me.
04:18I talked about it two weeks ago with no, I mean, no, I'm not even trying to be funny.
04:23The Nick Allen stuff at shortstop, when you've got Pena and Correa, or, you know, you've got
04:27these guys that, that are healthy and your load manage them and it's, and it's ultimately
04:31costing you games.
04:32You could get out of innings and it's costing you games because you've got a lesser player
04:36at a position.
04:38Um, and the, to me, the, the, the deal Sunday with Bryce and, and, and no one, you're going
04:42to have to put him in a position that he's, that he's never played.
04:44He's not comfortable playing is it, it makes it even worse.
04:48It's tenfold.
04:48Like that's the decisions to me that is, they're just unacceptable.
04:52Yeah.
04:53For me, it is someone texting Dana Brown is the, is the biggest problem.
04:57I do.
04:57I agree.
04:58I agree with it.
04:59I think Dana is the biggest problem.
05:00And I don't even think Joe is, I don't even think Joe has been, I think a lot of this
05:07is what Joe is kind of being dealt with a little bit, but even with that, you know, this in
05:12sports, Clint, sometimes like it's got, it may not all be on the manager or it may not
05:18all be on the coach, but the coach has got to be the move.
05:20Cause that's the, cause you're not, cause someone just said, maybe we should trade pain
05:23you.
05:24Cause you can get, no, I'm not in the business of trading your good players.
05:27Um, I like, I think, I think that, I think maybe Joe's voice and their response to him
05:33maybe has gone out or they just need something different and you can't really move out all
05:38the players.
05:39And I don't think you're going to get much change if Dana Brown is removed right now.
05:43I do think maybe there's a spark or something that's given.
05:48If you make the move at the top with Joe, a spot and maybe, maybe Omar Lopez, cause I'm
05:53just using him because he seemed like he would be the, the person that would make the
05:57most sense.
05:57Maybe he creates a spark and maybe he goes about things a little differently that helps
06:02it.
06:02But I, I think, I think they're just, if they want to do what they did a couple of years
06:07ago, Clint, where they got down 12, 13 games out of 500, just think it's going to turn.
06:11I don't, I don't think that's the case.
06:13Well, I just, I don't, I don't like calling for people's jobs.
06:15I don't, I don't care what they do at the top, to be honest with you.
06:18I just want to go home and watch the Astros and I want to see the best lineup that we
06:22got
06:22out there.
06:23I, I, I'm, I'm just, I, I'm absolutely right now.
06:25I'm absolutely disgusted with the long season stuff as I always am, but it's just, it's
06:30even, it's even worse right now.
06:31I'm just disgusted with the approach to everyday baseball with these guys.
06:35Um, I mean, I, I don't, it's, it's just a hard watch, man.
06:41It's hard.
06:41Like I'm pissed off cause I sit there and, and, and spend an hour plus of my day watching
06:45that crap and for it to end the way that it ends.
06:48Like I, I don't, I'm not, I don't want to, I don't, right now, I don't think you gain
06:51anything by, by firing Dana Brown.
06:53Now you said, if you think it'll spark with Omar being, that's cool.
06:55I'm good.
06:56I'm here for it.
06:56Talk about with Joe.
06:57Yeah.
06:57But I'm saying with Dana, like, I don't know.
06:59I don't know what, I don't know what the Dana deal.
07:01I don't dig that deep off into it.
07:02I, I just know what I watch when I go home every night and, and, and who I'm rooting
07:07to win.
07:07And, and, and it, it's so bad at times that it pisses me off that I wasted my time to
07:12watch
07:12it.
07:12Yeah.
07:12I think the Dana thing is it, this feels like a personnel is there.
07:16The personnel issue, the pitching is just the reason why you keep looking at pictures.
07:21You ain't never heard of because somebody said, well, our bullpen is ready to go, baby.
07:28We got, we got depth in this rotation.
07:30No, you don't.
07:31You do not, Dana, you do not.
