00:00is a 20 years old organization working with deaf children and their families.
00:05Our presence has been in five states.
00:08We work in Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
00:13Our main focus is to work with families.
00:17Because our experience has shown that there is a huge communication gap
00:21between the parent and the deaf child.
00:24And bridging that gap is something which Warni focuses on.
00:28Why are we here today?
00:28Why are we here today?
00:29Because there is a conference going on.
00:31It's a national conference.
00:33And it's called Limitless Horizons for Developing Holistic Pathway,
00:37Resilient Pathway for Parents and Deaf Children.
00:41And the conference where people come from is government dignitaries,
00:46people from the service, professionals, NGO partners, CSR partners,
00:52and many parents and deaf children.
00:55here.
00:56What are we doing here?
00:58We have a discussion here, a dialogue here, that how the systems lie that parents can support
01:06their best children.
01:08There are so many issues which parents face and addressing these issues, not to understand
01:13what challenges they face.
01:15And the right kind of methodology is very important.
01:19So today we are doing a lot of discussions and I am thankful to all the government dignitaries,
01:24all the professionals who have come here and especially the parents and children.
01:28Since morning they have been sitting here and listening to the inspirational talks.
01:33Today almost close to 100 participants.
01:36That is a very big thing.
01:40Asam se to log hai, but professionals have also come from Meghalaya.
01:44Plus Bombay se log hai hai, Delhi se log hai hai, Pune se log hai hai.
01:50We have professionals from Ali Avarjung National Institute.
01:53So, we have dignitaries who are really speaking and giving the right kind of inputs that are
01:58required for our families and to support our deaf children.
02:02Plus, hum loog Asam mein, North East mein, more than 10 years kaam kar rahe hai, Vani Deaf Children Foundation.
02:08And our goal is to take away from this conference.
02:13That is the early identification of hearing loss.
02:16How do we go to the rural part of India?
02:19How do we go to different educational programs like deaf children?
02:23How do we do skill building? How do we do higher education?
02:27And finally, how do we employ deaf children so that they can live a productive and dignified life?
02:34Plus, Vani Deaf Children Foundation ka ek goal hai, that no deaf child should be left behind.
02:40Either at birth, either in school or either in life.
02:45And this can be possible only when we work as a team and as an ecosystem.
02:50So, Asam mein, around 1 lakh bachche hai, jho 0 to 19 years mein deaf hai.
02:560 to 19 years ka hai.
02:58Woh jo, matlab, according to census, abhi jo naya census ho ga, usse pata chalega.
03:03But abhi hamare paas, actually in Vani Deaf Children Foundation, we have around more than 200 hearing impaired children whom
03:10we have, they have been with us right from the age of 2.
03:13And we also have a newborn hearing screening program going out at GMCH hospital.
03:19GMCH team has been very supportive to us where we do newborn hearing screening.
03:23Within 48 hours, the baby is screened for hearing loss.
03:26So, humare here haa peh bhout sare ground level ke sarvashikshya abhiyan ke loog hai.
03:31To abh bhi eek session hua tha, jis mei hhm loog idea model discuss kar raha hai, ya care model.
03:37Ki kis tarh se special educators ne parents se communicate karna chahiye.
03:42Kiise teaching strategies special educators ne lani chahiye.
03:46Or parents ko sif aapka bachcha deaf se nuhi bolna hai, but unko eek kind of solace dena hai ki
03:51haa problem hai,
03:52but solution bhi hai.
03:54Toh, yeh sari qiizhe haem aaj bol raha hai,
