00:00All right, The Drive is live, and we're back full force.
00:03Clint's in the building.
00:04Come on.
00:04Tyler's there if you're on the base power text line, 713-572-4610.
00:10We appreciate you jumping in.
00:11YouTube and Twitch, we appreciate you jumping in.
00:14And Kiss My Ass Champ Slice, have y'all seen Steve Slayton recently?
00:18He looked like he ate Ron.
00:19Damn, man.
00:21Steve Slayton, for real?
00:22Did we lose Steve Slayton to that?
00:24I didn't know that.
00:25To that food narcotic?
00:27Did we lose him?
00:28I bet, isn't it?
00:31I've been in that food narcotic for about 40 years.
00:34You're going to do it?
00:36Oh, yeah, you're right, text line.
00:38He's going to get them coneys.
00:39Even Framberg is going to be out there in Detroit and them damn coneys,
00:43them damn chili dogs, them hot dogs.
00:44He's going to put all kinds of cheese and stuff all on his.
00:47Go ahead, Framberg.
00:48Do your thing, man.
00:48Let it rip.
00:50I keep seeing that.
00:51Is anybody – I don't mean to get off here.
00:54I can't do it right now, but at some point in my journey I will.
00:57So, I keep seeing it at, like, Coney Island.
01:01Is that – I've seen a couple of those.
01:02Is that good?
01:03Never had it.
01:04You know what I'm talking about?
01:05It's like James Coney Island or something?
01:07I see that.
01:07The hot dog, are those good?
01:09I mean, I'm not a huge hot dog.
01:10I'm not a connoisseur, but I know I got a buddy of mine that is.
01:13And if it ain't Wienerschnitzel, it ain't right for him.
01:17He can't ride to Coney Island.
01:19Really?
01:20Okay.
01:20He's a Wienerschnitzel.
01:21Because I drove –
01:21Now, I think both of them are a dying breed now.
01:23Yeah.
01:24Because we drove past, and I'm thinking, damn, every time I want to stop by there,
01:27I want a little chilly.
01:29You know, I've never been – I'm a big hot dog guy.
01:33But there's – not that I don't like him.
01:35I just never – it's not my go-to.
01:37And golfing with my wife and the father-in-law this weekend, back-to-back days,
01:41I mean, they were just ranting and raving about these hot dogs that they'll bring to you
01:45on the golf course.
01:46And, I mean, they were good.
01:48Don't get me wrong.
01:49They were good.
01:50But I tell you, man, my old father-in-law, he can – he loves a good hot dog now.
01:55Good chili dog.
01:56Good chili, a little cheese on there.
01:57I mean, I like them.
01:58Yeah, onions.
01:59Yeah, absolutely.
02:01I'm in there.
02:01I'm all over it.
02:02But I'm not stopping at a James Coney Island to check them out.
02:07I might pull it up.
02:09Right now, that's not a part of my plan right now.
02:11But at some point.
02:11Isn't that what the – isn't that what Bun B's spot used to be?
02:17Isn't that the old James Coney Island building right there?
02:19Oh.
02:20The one here?
02:21Is it?
02:21Okay.
02:21I think it's an old James Coney Island building that they –
02:25The one in the city that he's –
02:26Yeah, the one right down here, yeah.
02:27He just built one that's right down the street from me.
02:29Yeah, he got three locations down here.
02:30Yeah, yeah, man.
02:30Go to that Trill Burger.
02:31You been down there?
02:32Haven't been down there yet.
02:33Not a part of my journey yet.
02:34But don't worry.
02:35We'll go there.
02:36I've gotten to the car wash right next to it.
02:38Hey, by the way, we're starting it off.
02:41This is that time.
02:42It is that time of the year where we hook you up with rodeo tickets, baby.
02:49Starting today, two different opportunities right here on the drive in the 3 o'clock hour
02:54and in the 5 o'clock hour.
02:55You got a chance to win a four-pack, twice today, a four-pack of tickets to see Russell Dickerson.
03:03Now, I'm not going to lie to you.
03:06I'm not familiar with Russ.
03:09Tyler said he had to go in there and jump in and really catch a little bit of Russ,
03:14and then he kind of heard it, and now you heard a couple of his tunes.
03:17But there you go.
03:18Russell Dickerson.
03:21Hey, it's good to be here.
03:23March 5th, by the way.
03:24Good to be here.
03:26It's rodeo time.
03:27Rodeo time in the city.
03:28Wow.
03:28I'll be honest with you.
03:29I'm not a big Russell Dickerson guy.
03:31Clearly.
03:31I was going to say, man, you went around that.
03:34You always talk about this.
03:36I mean, I like Russell Dickerson.
03:40He's not one of my go-tos.
03:42I think this is an interesting fit for rodeo.
03:47Was he in?
03:49Tyler said he didn't remember him.
03:50Was he in our tent one year?
03:54It wouldn't surprise me, yeah.
03:56I feel like I've heard the name, and I felt like he was in our tent.
03:59Not too long ago, probably three years ago.
04:01Yeah.
04:01Yeah, probably.
04:02He was probably the main act, maybe the headliner in our tent.
04:08It's interesting because Russ, he's had some good hits.
04:11That man, Tyler, did you hear him?
04:13That man said, yeah, happy to be here.
04:15Yeah.
04:16I mean, I'm going to be here in rodeo time.
04:18I'm going to be here in rodeo time.
04:19I mean, Russ is, to me, he's kind of a tweener.
04:24He falls somewhere between cook-off headliner and rodeo.
04:27Oh, you're not sure if he's ready to get to it.
04:29I'm not sure Russ can fill that thing up on a Thursday night.
04:33Thursday night's a good night.
04:34March 5th?
04:34I may be wrong.
04:35I'm not a –
04:37713-572-4610, YouTube and Twitch.
04:40How do you feel about Russell Dickerson?
04:43I'm pretty selective in my – especially the newer country,
04:46I'm pretty selective these days.
04:48And I don't –
04:50When you hear Russell Dickerson, do you think –
04:52those of you who are country music fans, do you think rodeo?
04:59Do you think headliner one night at a rodeo?
05:05I do not.
05:06You don't think that?
05:06Not yet?
05:07No, I do not.
05:11It'll be interesting.
05:13See you Thursday night too, man.
05:15Be interesting.
05:16Well, why don't you go check it out?
05:19You got a chance to win a four-pack.
05:21See the rodeo.
05:22See R.D., I believe is what they call him.
05:25Do they really?
05:25I don't know.
05:26I did.
05:28Oh, R.D., baby.
05:30Somebody texted, no, not a headliner.
05:32Feels more cook-off artist.
05:35Somewhere between the two.
05:36I don't want to disrespect my man.
05:38Somewhere between the two.
05:38So he's like Taylor Trammell.
05:41Somewhere between Sugar Land and –
05:43No, he's better than Taylor Trammell.
05:44Is he?
05:45He's somewhere between, like, he would go up and down from Sugar Land to the Astros.
05:50I would say he's in the Jake Myers range.
05:53Oh, well, Jake Myers is a –
05:55He ain't no headliner.
05:56Jake Myers.
05:57But Jake Myers ain't in between.
05:59Jake Myers, he's had some good, more bad than good.
06:03Khakis.
06:04But enough good to keep you turned on.
06:07And has recently been good enough to earn a position on a really good team
06:12at the bottom third of the lineup.
06:14That's Russell Dickerson.
06:15I agree.
06:16That's R.D., huh?
06:17Ain't nobody going to see the Astros –
06:18Ain't nobody going to see the Astros and see Jake.
06:20Now, you might get there, and when you see Jake, you might be happy what you saw.
06:24Impressive, but you ain't going –
06:25Like, I just – I think that's right.
06:28But you should just be parking lot playing.
06:32No, no, no, no, no.
06:33I don't –
06:34Well, somewhere between –
06:35No, no, no.
06:36Somewhere between the bench and start.
06:38And the end of the game.
06:39I got you.
06:40There you go.
06:40Not quite.
06:41Not quite.
06:41Big league.
06:42I mean, look, Russell Dickerson's big league.
06:43He's a big leaguer.
06:44He's a big leaguer.
06:45I just don't know if he's one of them kind of guys that kind of yo-yos
06:47between Sugar Land and the Dyke.
06:51He's a fourth outfielder.
06:52Yeah.
06:53Yeah, there you go.
06:53Fourth outfielder.
06:54There you go.
06:55All right.
06:56Three o'clock hour.
06:57That's going to be your first opportunity to win a four-pack
06:58to see Russell Dickerson March 5th.
07:00You'll do it again.
07:01We'll do it again in the five o'clock hour.
07:04All right.
07:05This is becoming a thing.
07:06I don't know how big of a deal it is or how serious it is,
07:10but this has become a talking point here now that the season is over
07:13and we're starting to get into off-season stuff.
07:14A couple people.
07:15Albert Breer brought this up.
07:17Todd McShay brought this up.
07:19But potentially talking about teams maybe looking at a C.J. Stroud to trade for.
07:26Here's Todd McShay.
07:27Let's go with Todd McShay here.
07:28And he talks about C.J. Stroud could be one of those guys that teams could see
07:35if he's on the move.
07:37There's going to be some big-name quarterbacks that are currently in destinations
07:41that have contracts that are going to be targeted.
07:45Teams are going to be aggressive.
07:46C.J. Carr is one of them.
07:48Okay.
07:49C.J. Carr?
07:50I mean, it's not C.J. Carr.
07:52C.J. Stroud, sorry.
07:54C.J. Stroud's a name.
07:55Does he need a new scenery?
07:58Joe Burrow's a long shot.
07:59No one thinks it's going to happen.
08:01But, like, I'm just getting out ahead of you're going to hear some information,
08:04whether it's at the forefront, like on the ticker,
08:07or some whispers and rumors that, wow, someone allegedly threw a lot of money
08:13and a lot of picks and a lot of, you know, a lot of compensation offers in a package
08:19to try to get Joe Burrow out of Cincinnati.
08:21So be prepared for that.
08:23All right.
08:24There have been multiple.
08:25Burrow and Stroud are the ones.
08:27Stroud being the more realistic one that people are saying.
08:29I don't know how realistic either one of them are.
08:33I guess my thought here is I think we all have our feelings about this.
08:39I guess for me is how serious do you think the Texans are
08:43in actually taking these calls?
08:45Like, how much of a possibility from not your perspective,
08:50but from a Texans perspective do you think they're taking this serious?
08:54Oh, I think they're absolutely taking it.
08:57You think so?
08:57Yeah, absolutely.
08:58I've said it multiple times.
08:59I take my opinion out of the mix.
09:01I mean, when you look at the way this team is wired
09:03and the way D'Amico Rhines wants this team to look and operate,
09:06the problems that CJ has that we know of, the ones that we see,
09:12are the problems that drive defensive-minded head coaches absolutely nuts.
09:18It's the kind of problems that drive anybody that had anything to do
09:22with the New England Patriots organization when Tom Brady was there,
09:25drive them absolutely nuts.
09:28And so, you know, I think there's definitely a conversation of CJ Stroud
09:33and potentially $60 million a year or a much cheaper option at the quarterback position,
09:40draft capital, and significant cap space.
09:44I do think that that is enough to at least take it serious and field calls on CJ Stroud.
09:52Absolutely.
09:53Like, so it's – and you think it's more than we're taking it serious because,
09:59hey, man, you got to listen to the draft compensation?
10:00Or do you think it's more we're taking it serious because we would be open to doing this
10:07if the price was right?
10:10Like, this isn't just to take it serious based off what you could get back.
10:15Jack, this is to take it serious of this is something that we really think is on the table
10:19to move off of it.
10:22Yes.
10:23I think all of the above.
10:24Wow.
10:24I think all of the above, yes.
10:26It would not shock me one bit that – and I think that's why people nationally right now –
10:32I don't think Todd McShay had a lick of confidence in what he was saying.
10:36That's why he stumbled through it.
10:37He was scared to just – because of who it is and it's CJ Stroud
10:41and he may not know enough about the situation, he was scared to just say it with his chest
10:44that, hey, man, the Texans are likely going to at least entertain trading CJ Stroud.
10:49He had a real hard time saying that.
10:50I don't think he – I don't think he necessarily believes what he was trying to say.
10:55But, yeah, man, I think there's a real world in the NFL where this particular group
11:01with the Houston Texans is entertaining all of their options at the quarterback position.
11:07All right, let's do this on the other side.
11:09That's 713-572-4610.
11:11Wait until you hear what John McClain, the general of the Hall of Famer, has to say about this.
11:15And from you, text in 713-572-4610.
11:20YouTube and Twitch use that base power text line.
11:24How serious do you think the Texans should be?
11:27Like, I doubt, Clint, we're hearing too much.
11:29They're getting calls.
11:30Oh, absolutely.
11:31They're getting calls.
11:32Yeah.
11:33How serious should they be taking these calls?
