00:01:29which was of 6th of January 2020, related to the 6th of January 2020 incident, 2021 incident of the Capitol Hill.
00:01:38And that was actually published by the Daily Telegraph, accusing the BBC of bias and editing and clubbing the two different speeches in a way to tarnish the image of President Donald Trump

00:03:11And now shifting focus in a horrifying case from Hooghly in West Bengal, the grandfather of a four-year-old girl has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his own granddaughter.
00:03:26Shockingly, the grandfather who initially filed the complaint confessed after police noticed inconsistencies in his statement.
00:03:32A five-member special investigation team has been formed to probe this case.
00:03:36The accused was produced in court yesterday and remanded to one day of judicial custody.
00:03:41Today, the police will seek seven days of custody in the Poxo court.
00:03:45Now, the incident occurred near Tarkeshwar railway station where the girl's family had been taking shelter.
00:03:51The child was reportedly abducted from under her mosquito net while she was asleep and later found hours after frantic searches, bleeding, unclothed and with bite marks on her cheek near a drain.

00:12:21In fact, he further asserted that there will be no compromise in ensuring secular education for children in Kerala.
00:12:28Now this comes a day after Chief Minister Pinaray Vijayan lashed out at the railways, alleging that it is now being misused for RSS propaganda.
00:12:36Congress MP KC Venugopal claimed the event had been turned into an RSS function.
00:12:41Other opposition leaders too have condemned this incident.
00:12:44The BJP, however, dismissed the allegations.
00:12:46Party's Kerala Chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar defended the students, saying that they were simply singing a song expressing love for the motherland and questioned why opposition parties were criticizing children for singing patriotic songs.

00:25:31that not to come to Delhi to meet them and they will not be giving any audience to the Chief Minister.

00:25:44The High Command has also instructed Chief Minister to tell everyone from the cabinet that no one who comes to Delhi will be given audience.

00:41:46The demonstration, which lasted nearly 30 minutes, saw activists, citizens and opposition leaders,
00:41:51including members of the Ahmadami Party and the Congress.
00:41:53However, the Commission for Air Quality Management has denied to invoke Grap 3 restrictions, noting
00:41:59that the city's AQI remains at the higher end of the very poor category.
00:42:02Thousands protested at Delhi's India gate against worsening air pollution on Sunday, holding

00:42:10Opposition leaders from the Ahmadami Party and the Congress joined the protest, demanding

00:43:56The AQI bank of the area is the only way they are trying to get equal to the city of India.
00:44:00That is all.
00:44:01The situation that needs the same辛勢 things happen, the other way they are only trying
00:44:02to help the country.
00:44:03But there is no such a change of change.

00:45:19As you know, Delhi is currently witnessing one of the worst pollution crises where AQI has surpassed the very poor and severe category in the national capital.
00:45:31Not only in the national capital, but other adjoining cities, Gurugram and Noida are also witnessing the same.
00:45:36The pollution level is at very poor or severe category.
00:45:40Currently, I'm here at Aksharedham where I'll show you behind me in the visuals how a thick layer of smoke has engulfed the whole national capital region.
00:45:48Even where AQI has surpassed the very poor category.
00:45:51If I'll talk about the current AQI where I'm standing is around 3.46, which comes under the very poor category.
00:45:58And from last four days, we are witnessing that in a row, Delhi is witnessing very poor air quality.
00:46:03And even the PM2.5 and PM10 has surpassed the hazardous level where we are witnessing that these tiny particles can enter into our bloodstream and can harm our vital organs.
00:46:16And even politics is escalating on this issue where we are witnessing the party targeting the Bharati Janata Party over the pollution issue in the national capital.
00:46:24And yesterday, we have seen in the evening that thousands of people from civil society, NGO, student wings of political parties have gathered at India Gate to protest against the pollution.
00:46:34And later, they were detained.
00:46:35So now, Delhi is witnessing one of the worst pollution crises where air has turned into toxic.
00:46:41But yeah, the visuals currently depicting and showing the condition of the national capital region where everywhere you will be seeing smoke.
00:46:50When you will be waking up, you will be witnessing smoke in afternoon also.
00:46:53In evenings also, that the smoke is visible and not here in Delhi.
00:46:57But other parts of North India are also witnessing one of the worst pollution crises.
00:47:02If you will talk about Punjab, Haryana and other places are joining the national capital.
00:47:06Like in Rajasthan also, we can see that AQI is above 200, 250 means poor and in very poor category.
00:47:14So this has become one of a kind of a national emergency which I think politicians and policy makers should be talking about and working on it.
00:47:21Absolutely, Anmol.
00:47:23In fact, a lot of questions are being raised that why not impose the Grab 3 restrictions when the AQI is increasing so rapidly?
00:47:36Yeah, we know that Grab was imposed in the last governments to control the AQI situation in the national capital.
00:47:44Like old diesel vehicles and patrol vehicles were not permitted to enter into the national capital or an even was implemented to control the pollution situation.
00:47:53But yeah, now people in one voice is asking that Grab, but on the other hand, experts are also saying that Grab is not the solution.
00:47:59It's a temporary solution to just curb pollution for a particular period of time.
00:48:04So people are asking for a permanent solution of this problem because from last one decade, we are witnessing that pollution is worsening in the national capital where every year by year is passing and we are witnessing that AQI levels are crossing the hazardous and dangerous mark.
00:48:20Right. Also, Anmol, what is the update on cloud seeding which was being seen as a big tool in the fight against pollution?
00:48:28There were trials conducted, but what is the latest development as far as cloud seeding is concerned, especially when the AQI levels are increasing, the air quality is now in the severe category?
00:48:44The cloud seeding project was launched in pilot phase by the Delhi government with collaboration with the IIT, Kanpur, and two trials have been done which both went fail because of less moisture in the environment.
00:48:57So now the government is waiting for the right time when they will be having right moisture for the cloud seeding because earlier two trials have failed.
00:49:05Earlier they tried cloud seeding above in the skies of the national capital in the north Delhi and the west Delhi region to spray the chemicals into the cloud so that they could form artificial clouds.
00:49:18That will rain and that will decrease the AQI in the national capital.
00:49:21So now they are waiting for the right time, the right moisture for the third trial.
00:49:25This was a five trial, a pilot project where two trials have passed which have been failed, but now they are waiting for the third one.
00:49:32And soon the government will be talking about the third trial because they are waiting for the right time and the right moisture on it.

00:49:49The air quality is in the severe category in most of the locations in the national capital.
00:49:55Now, we'll quickly run you through how the AQI looked like in the past few days in the national capital.
00:50:01Now, if you talk about November 6th, it was the overall AQI in Delhi was 311.
00:50:06On November 7th, it was 322 and on November 8th, it was 361.
00:50:14On November 9th, it was 392, whereas on November 10th, it was 345.
00:50:19So you can see a sharp rise in the AQI in the past few days as well, minus November 10th when it declined.
00:50:27But if you look at the other days, from 311 on November 6th to 392 on November 9th.
00:50:35So this is how the AQI figures look like in the national capital.
00:50:39The situation is only becoming worse with each passing day.
00:50:45Shashi Tharoor may be a Congress MP, but off late, it seems his fiercest critic is someone from within his own party.
00:50:52In the latest Flashpoint, Tharoor's praise for BJP veteran LK Advani has not gone down well with the grand old party.
00:50:59On the occasion of Advani's 98th birthday on Saturday, the Thiruvananthapuram MP described the former Deputy Prime Minister
00:51:06as an exemplary statesman whose role in shaping modern India's trajectory was indelible.
00:51:12Now, after his remarks drew criticism from a Supreme Court lawyer, Tharoor defended his stance,
00:51:17saying that it would be unfair to reduce Advani's decades of public service to one episode,
00:51:22a reference to his role in the Barbary movement.
00:51:25Now, however, the Congress was quick to distance itself from Tharoor's comments,
00:51:29clarifying that they were his personal views.
00:51:32Sensing another opportunity to target the Congress, the BJP has launched a sharp attack,
00:51:37accusing the grand old party of intolerance for reprimanding a gesture of bipartisanship.

00:51:57Well, it is both the thing, because Shashi Tharoor in the last few days,
00:52:02Anjali, we have seen as to how he has been trying to appease the top leadership of the Bharat Janta Party.
00:52:08He has been putting out various posts in which he is, you know,
00:52:13praising the Modi government's policies, be it about foreign policy or any other policy of the government.
00:52:17But yesterday, he had also put out a, you know, message on social media platform X,
00:52:22where he, you know, extended his birthday greetings to BJP patriarch LK Advani.
00:52:29And after which we saw a lot of controversy taking place,
00:52:32where Congress Party from its official Twitter handle has now distanced itself from Shashi Tharoor.
00:52:37And this is, like you rightly mentioned, that yes, it is not only a personal gesture,
00:52:42but also a political, you know, will also of Shashi Tharoor, which is now coming out in the open.
00:52:48That's what various leaders of the Congress Party are also talking about.
00:52:51You would remember that when Shashi Tharoor was appointed as the chairman of one of the delegations,

00:53:15And in the last few days, multiple times, we have seen how Tharoor coming out in open
00:53:20and praising Modi government's policies, though, you know, after Congress distancing itself from Tharoor's remarks,
00:53:27BJP has slammed Congress Party, saying that this shows the intolerant nature of a Congress Party.
00:53:33Now, we'll have to wait, not just to how it is further going to escalate,
00:53:36but yes, Shashi Tharoor, in the last various, you know, instances,
00:53:40has been seeing, you know, talking about the Modi government
00:53:45and praising Modi government's policies, which has not gone down well within the Congress Party.
00:53:51All right, Piyush, thank you for those details and for that context.
00:53:54Now, it is also important to note that this is not the first time that Shashi Tharoor heaped praises on BJP leaders.
00:53:59Let us, sir, let's listen in to some of the past remarks that were made by the Congress MP.
00:54:04As far as I'm concerned, I don't know those bills well enough to give you a comment.
00:54:11On the face of it, it seems reasonable that anyone who does anything wrong should be liable to punishment
00:54:16and should not be holding a high constitutional office or a political office.
00:54:20I think that makes sense.
00:54:20The facilities we've destroyed can all be rebuilt within six to nine months and probably will be.
00:54:26But the intent may have been shaken a little bit.
00:54:30And certainly the successful strikes of the night of 9th, 10th May
00:54:39and the ability of India to intercept the attempted Pakistani response
00:54:47when they sent missiles to Delhi on the morning of the 10th,
00:54:50I think was what contributed undoubtedly, and not Mr. Trump,
00:54:55to the call by the Pakistani DGMO to his Indian counterpart asking for peace.
00:55:02Well, I mean, I don't think that's particularly good news for us.
00:55:05But, you know, obviously that takes our total tariffs to 50 percent.
00:55:09Then that's going to make our goods unaffordable to a lot of people in America.
00:55:14And in particularly when you're looking at these percentages,
00:55:17you have to compare them with the tariffs being levied on some of our competitors.
00:55:21And I'm afraid if you look at people like Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines,
00:55:26even Bangladesh and Pakistan have lower tariffs than us,
00:55:30then ultimately people will not be buying goods from us in America
00:55:34if they can buy them cheaper elsewhere.
00:55:36So that's not very good for our exports to America.
00:55:40This means we need to very seriously diversify to other countries and other markets
00:55:44which may be interested in what we have to offer.
00:55:47We now have an FTA with the UK.
00:55:49We are talking to the EU.
00:55:51There are many countries in which hopefully we would be able to.
00:55:54But in the short term, it is definitely a blow.
00:55:56I don't think we can sugarcoat it.
00:55:58And now let us take a look at the past instances when Shashi Tharoor defied the party line.
00:56:06Now, in the latest, in November 2025, that is ongoing on Saturday,
00:56:10Shashi Tharoor praised L.K. Advani on his 98th birthday.
00:56:14But the Congress Party distanced itself from the remarks made by Shashi Tharoor
00:56:18and the praises for L.K. Advani,
00:56:20saying that those remarks have been made by Shashi Tharoor in his personal capacity.
00:56:25Now, in October 2025, last month, he called dynasty politics a grave threat.
00:56:31Now, it is also important to note that dynasty politics is very much prevalent in the Congress Party.
00:56:36Going back to August 2025, Shashi Tharoor backed the bill allowing Prime Minister and Chief Minister's removal.
00:56:44Now, the Congress Party opposed the bill and labelled it draconian.
00:56:47And it was not just the Congress Party.
00:56:48In fact, the entire opposition opposed this bill, which was backed by Shashi Tharoor.
00:56:53And in fact, in August 2025 itself, Shashi Tharoor backed the government's stand on ceasefire with Pakistan,
00:57:00whereas the Congress Party questioned the government on Trump taking the ceasefire credit.
00:57:05But it was lauded by Shashi Tharoor, who is a Congress MP.
00:57:09And in August 2025 itself, Shashi Tharoor rejected Donald Trump's dead economy attack.
00:57:15But Congress MP and in fact, Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi backed Donald Trump's claims

00:57:27In July 2025, Shashi Tharoor called the emergency as a dark chapter in the history of India,

01:05:54We have taken a crucial decision where the state has decided to ban polygamy in the state
01:06:00and it has been approved in the Assam cabinet.
01:06:02It is due to be placed in the upcoming state assembly in the month of November itself.
01:06:09And what Himanta Biswasarma said categorically,
01:06:12that they are planning to build up funds to compensate the victim women.
01:06:16They will be given financial aid and other kind of assistance as required.
01:06:21And it will be, and the cabinet have also deliberated
01:06:24that if anybody is found violating this law,
01:06:26when they could face an imprisonment of seven years.
01:06:30The state is calling this bill as the bill,
01:06:33it is called the Assam Prohibition of Polygamy Bill 2025.
01:06:37It will be tabled in the assembly in November.
01:06:39Overall, it is a big move as far as retoring the rights of the government are concerned.
01:06:45But opposition parties in Assam says that it is actually,
01:06:49the government is trying to pinpoint to a particular community
01:06:54to ban from multiple marriages.
01:06:57So it is just the beginning.
01:06:59The state government have decided it needs to be seen,
01:07:01how it is passed in the assembly.
01:07:03But it's not going to be a cakewalk for the state government,
01:07:05keeping in mind the upcoming elections in Assam in 2026.
