00:01Hey!
00:02That is beautiful, isn't it?
00:04Hey guys, check this out.
00:05We got the Switch to win, and in this video,
00:07we'll unbox it, show you what's in the box,
00:09and get it set up.
00:10I'm guessing at least some of you have already ordered
00:12or even gotten yours, but if you haven't yet,
00:14check out the link in the description
00:15to see if it's back in stock.
00:17Otherwise, let's get into it.
00:27All right, so here's everything you get in the box.
00:29We'll start with the boring stuff.
00:30We got the AC adapter, USB-C cable, and the HDMI cable.
00:35Right here in the middle, we got the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
00:38Remember, the big upgrades are the improved cooling fans
00:41and support for 4K HDR output.
00:43Then we got the Joy-Con controllers,
00:45which are a lot bigger than before, feel more substantial,
00:48plus they have a seat button for game chat.
00:52Then we have the Joy-Con grip for the controllers,
00:55pretty familiar to anyone who already has a Switch.
00:57Then we have the two Joy-Con straps.
00:59Then we have the console itself.
01:01That 7.9-inch 1080p display, 120Hz refresh rate,
01:05new kickstand, better speakers, and dual USB-C inputs.
01:09All right, guys, we gotta get the Joy-Cons on,
01:10and it is so much easier this time.
01:12Just magnetically pops on.
01:15Huge difference from before,
01:17and that's a very satisfying sign as well.
01:20Ooh, accessories.
01:21All right, before moving on,
01:22got something very important to tell you.
01:24So Nintendo is worried that some of you may act like fools
01:26with your new Switch,
01:27so I gotta share this quick PSA.
01:29Whatever you do,
01:30do not peel off the screen protector.
01:33To be honest, I don't see it,
01:34but there's actually a protective feel built into the screen
01:37to reduce glare and prevent the glass from breaking.
01:40If you do like to rock with an additional screen protector,
01:43there are already a bunch out there,
01:44like this one from Belkin,
01:46which is an anti-reflective glass screen protector
01:48for 25 bucks, which is a pretty good deal.
01:50You can check out that link in the description below.
01:52There's also a blue light version, if that's your thing.
01:55You can do the whole setup on the Switch,
01:57but we're gonna kill two birds with one stone
01:59and show you how to set up your Switch 2 dock
02:01for your monitor or TV.
02:03The first thing that you wanna do
02:05is actually connect it to the actual monitor.
02:08Side note, this is the new Alienware 27 OLED monitor,
02:11which is a really nice monitor,
02:12so yeah.
02:14The HDMI cable down here.
02:18All right, so let's open this up.
02:19It's a little bit different than with the original Switch,
02:22but still pretty easy.
02:23You just pop this off and you have access to USB-C,
02:27Ethernet, and HDMI.
02:30So let's get that in.
02:32Of course, we gotta actually plug it in,
02:34so we have power.
02:37And let's snap it back together.
02:38All right, so we got the HDMI plugged in.
02:42Plug squared away.
02:44Let's get this thing into the dock.
02:46And get the magic happening.
02:48There it is.
02:50So this is what you're gonna see when you open up the Switch 2.
02:53You gotta press the 8 button to confirm.
02:55Don't press B, which is naturally where the X button is on a PlayStation.
02:59You wanna press 8.
03:00This thing always tripped me up when I'm messing around with Nintendo consoles.
03:07All right, so we're in the Americas.
03:09Accept.
03:10Accept.
03:12I never understood why they tell you that.
03:13It's like, if you don't accept, you can't play.
03:14It's like, what?
03:16I've set up the internet.
03:24I like that.
03:26All right.
03:27To be honest, that's probably the hardest part.
03:29Here we go.
03:31So this is what I like about Nintendo.
03:33They just, like, make it so easy.
03:34They just flat out tell you how to do everything.
03:36Nintendo makes things pretty intuitive, but this is really good stuff to know in case
03:41you haven't played a Nintendo console in forever, or, you know, if you're just new in general.
03:47Now we gotta do updates, because this is a modern system, and you can't escape that.
03:53Oh, it's finally started.
03:54Two minutes left.
03:57Glad we got that, at least.
03:59Ooh.
04:01And we're done.
04:02Now I'm guessing that a lot of people who are getting the Switch 2 are upgrading from
04:07the old OG Switch, whether it's the original, original, or the OLED, like I have here.
04:12Nintendo made it super easy with the system transfer feature.
04:14We're gonna need our internet connection, our user profile, and we're gonna follow the
04:19on-screen prompts on the new Switch to complete the transfer, which will restore your settings
04:22and save data and get this looking exactly how you had it on your old Switch.
04:26All right.
04:27So, let us start the system transfer.
04:30Signing to your Nintendo account, so we'll do that.
04:34Okay, so.
04:34I got it.
04:35Yep.
04:35All right.
04:36Kate's gonna sign in, and we're gonna get the magic happening.
04:40Hi, guys.
04:41Say hi to Kate.
04:46Ooh, fancy.
04:48Right on your phone.
04:48It's, again, very easy.
04:50That's what I like about Nintendo.
04:51So, once you do that, you get a verification code on your account.
04:56Fingers crossed.
04:58That should be fine.
05:01Hey, let's go.
05:04This looks pretty close to me.
05:07So, let's go.
05:10I mean, they're done.
05:12I mean, that's about as close as you get, dude.
05:14Dude.
05:14Dude.
05:14Dude.
05:21All right.
05:25So, I'm gonna hit done.
05:26All right.
05:27So, we're ready to go.
05:28Just keep in mind, you're gonna need the original AC adapters for both consoles for this to work.
05:32Okay.
05:32So, let's continue on the Switch 2.
05:37So, we actually don't have a lot to transfer.
05:39So, it may not take too long.
05:41But if you have a lot of stuff, transferring could take a while.
05:44So, just keep that in mind.
05:45Remember, you're setting up a new console.
05:48Patience is required.
05:49Now, we're setting up.
05:58Almost there.
05:59I really like how clean this all is.
06:02All right.
06:02System transfer complete.
06:04That was literally five minutes.
06:06Amazing.
06:08Whoa.
06:09There we go.
06:10We are done.
06:11So, even though transferring from another system is pretty easy, you may not want to do that.
06:14You may want a fresh start.
06:16It's super easy.
06:17You'll just need to follow the on-screen prompts, get connected to Wi-Fi again, and make a Nintendo account if you don't have one already.
06:24It's free, but you will want to add a payment method for buying digital games and using Nintendo Switch Online, which has old games and is getting GameCube games.
06:32And, like, that is beautiful, isn't it?
06:42Okay.
06:42So, as you can see here, not all that different from the original Switch.
06:48A couple little minor tweaks here and there, but if you're familiar with the original Switch UI, you're going to be right at home here.
06:56There are some differences.
06:57The main one here is the Game Chat button.
06:58Speaking of games, we have to talk about what you're going to be playing first.
07:05Mario Kart World is the obvious one.
07:07So, I've actually played Mario Kart for about six hours.
07:09I can tell you right now, this game is so massive, so expansive, it's worth the $80.
07:15I know you're going to be like, Tony, $80 is a lot of money.
07:17Yes, but this game is going to last you for months, bro.
07:20Trust me on this.
07:22You need to get that.
07:22But this also means that getting the Mario Kart bundle, which is $4.99, actually saves you money off the game.
07:28You're actually saving $30.
07:30So, you're basically getting the best game on the Nintendo Switch 2 at the moment.
07:34The game is going to last for a while, and you're saving money.
07:37I mean, come on, bro.
07:38It's a no-brainer.
07:39Now, Mario Kart World is dope.
07:41You definitely got to get it, but the game I'm excited for is Street Fighter VI.
07:44The reason I'm excited for it is not only because of Street Fighter VI, but I'm very curious to see how it's going to run on Nintendo Switch.
07:51It's been a very long time since we've got a Street Fighter game on the Nintendo system.
07:55Based on everything we've seen, it looks fantastic, and it has cross-play as well, so you can play against your friends on other consoles.
08:01So, you know, if you're on Nintendo Switch, some people will be like, hey, you're not that good of a fighter.
08:05Show them, bro.
08:06Show them.
08:07Then we have the Legend of Zelda Switch 2 editions, which make the original games look and run a lot better.
08:12There's also going to be some original content in there.
08:15Definitely worth it.
08:16Even if you're, like, a first-timer, definitely buy it, but if you already own the games, you can just upgrade for $10, which is a really good deal.
08:23And even though it's not out yet, the game I'm really, really excited for is Donkey Kong Bonanza.
08:28Not Bonanza, Bonanza.
08:30It's basically, like, the old-school Donkey Kong design-wise that I remember when I was a kid, but in a new game, that's going to be so much fun.
08:37And that's dropping on July 17th.
08:40All right, so whether you're upgrading or starting fresh, the Switch 2 setup is pretty painless, and you're getting a serious performance bump.
08:47So if you like this video, make sure you let me know in the comments below.
08:50Hit like, subscribe to the channel, and be on the lookout for more Switch 2 coverage from us.
08:55And again, check the description for where to buy one if it's in stock.
08:58All right, guys, that's it.
08:59Once again, I was Tony Polanco.
09:00I'll see you next time, and good luck getting a Switch 2.
