00:00Hello, so today we are at Baby Grand at Charing Cross and we are here, it's been open since
00:081984.
00:09We are here because it's closing down, unfortunately.
00:12Unfortunately it's closing down, Caitlin, after 40 years in Glasgow, we are seeing giants
00:17everywhere.
00:18So yeah, we're going to have some food because it's back to you.
00:26It's a special menu, it's a special 1984 menu.
00:29They've set back the prices, we thought we'd order off that to get the full 80s experience
00:34here.
00:35There's been a lot of changes in this area since Baby Grand opened, but we're looking
00:39forward to trying the food in this Glasgow establishment.
00:43Yeah, so how are you feeling about this?
00:46I must admit, I have never been in Baby Grand before, I've passed it umpteen times when
00:51we were touring at Charing Cross.
00:52Same.
00:53And I think probably because it's a piano bar and stuff, maybe folk to my age, it's
01:00probably put us off from coming in here before, which is what the owner, Billy, spoke about.
01:04The kind of folk that's been coming here, Caitlin, since the 80s, still come in here.
01:08But as I said, absolutely nothing wrong with being here, and I don't know why I've actually
01:12not come in before.
01:13I'm a bit gutted I've just discovered it, because this is a class we joined.
01:17It's very nice inside.
01:19Yeah, it's very cool, very retro.
01:21I know, the booths are nice, and the food looks lovely as well, so I'm looking forward
01:25to it.
01:26Me too.
01:29So this is my soup.
01:30It tastes quite old school, like classic lentil soup.
01:33I do like it.
01:35What about yours, Declan?
01:36I went a wee bit fancy and got a steak sandwich, but on this menu it's only about £4 for a
01:42steak sandwich, £20-25 is a really good bargain.
01:46That's unheard of.
01:47I'm looking forward to dipping into this, and chips are lovely too.
01:50Oh.
01:51Time for a treat!
01:53Lovely, really nice, plenty of steak on it, as I say, everywhere.
01:57I'll tell you, this is incredible.
01:59I know it's a bit of a one-off, but a steak sandwich for under £5 is kind of negligible,
02:03so lovely, really.
